Old video.
Yesterday there were videos from people on the beach (not in a car) in Crescent City CA setting off fireworks it was insane. They took the video down because police started looking to identify people involved in the illegal fireworks display that injured 14 people, including a 3 year old child who had to be medivacced to a hospital for inhalation injuries and a collapsed lung. Someone has a much less frightening video on all the news sites which was taken from a car at least a mile away, which wasn’t a frightening video at all.
But the one that was taken on the scene….holy crap. There were tons of people setting set off fireworks and mortars from all over the beach, very dangerous, and then a whole load of them exploded at once, sending mortars into the crowd. Thousands of dollars worth of fireworks. Then some town official something along the lines of, “Look, we know the economy is bad and everyone was cooped up in the shutdown, but we have to be responsible with fireworks.”
Da fuq? “The economy is bad” meanwhile [bold] THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS [/bold] in fireworks are being set off.
And “the shutdown”? IT’S BEEN OVER FOR 2.5 YEARS.
