Datalounge- My Feet Are Killing Me 😟😟

What should I do?

by Anonymousreply 59August 13, 2024 12:03 PM

I can get rid of them with scissors and some iodine.

by Anonymousreply 1July 6, 2024 3:32 AM

R1- Any other suggestions?

by Anonymousreply 2July 6, 2024 3:37 AM

How are they killing you?

by Anonymousreply 3July 6, 2024 3:38 AM

R3- I just took a 2 mile walk and they really hurt. But I should also mention that I've have numerous bouts of gout in the past so my feet are very sensitive already plus I wear giant sneakers that are shitty and don't give me any support. Size 17-4E.

Call 911

by Anonymousreply 5July 6, 2024 3:40 AM

You need new clown shoes.

by Anonymousreply 6July 6, 2024 3:42 AM

That’s funny, OP - it’s your face that’s killing me.

by Anonymousreply 7July 6, 2024 3:45 AM

R7- You're SO funny I forgot to laugh.

Just smoke copious amounts of pot, silly!

by Anonymousreply 9July 6, 2024 4:02 AM

The good book says “and if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee:”

Why not listen to the good book …

by Anonymousreply 10July 6, 2024 4:02 AM

My feet are still killing me and I can't take this humidity anymore. I must now go upstairs to my air conditioned bedroom.

by Anonymousreply 11July 6, 2024 4:05 AM

Excuse me, OP, but the hour is growing late. May I draw your curtains and prepare your nightclothes?

by Anonymousreply 12July 6, 2024 4:06 AM

R12- That would be most appreciated. Thank you kindly.

by Anonymousreply 13July 6, 2024 4:11 AM

OP: By any chance is your first name Ignatius?

by Anonymousreply 14July 6, 2024 4:20 AM

R14- No. My name is Milo.

by Anonymousreply 15July 6, 2024 4:24 AM

OP’s name is Tina and she’s going to start her meditation session any second now.

by Anonymousreply 16July 6, 2024 4:27 AM

by Anonymousreply 17July 6, 2024 4:28 AM

Lie down and elevate your feet.

Get a better pair of shoes.

by Anonymousreply 18July 6, 2024 7:06 AM

Superfeet inserts.

Epsom salt soak.

Take a pain reliever.

Foot and ankle yoga (videos on YouTube)

Compression socks

New shoes

by Anonymousreply 19July 6, 2024 9:04 AM

Foot spa with vibrating heat option and Johnson's Foot Soap. Dry your feet well after soaking and put on a clean pair of tight/compression socks.

by Anonymousreply 20July 6, 2024 10:10 AM

Invest in better shoes. I recommend Brooks. They are expensive, but it's worth the investment to protect your feet.

by Anonymousreply 21July 6, 2024 10:22 AM

My feet are a disaster, OP. Low arches, a couple of bouts of plantars fascitis in my left foot, I supponate, and recently developed arthritis in my left foot. But I manage to walk 3 to 5 miles a day. Good shoes are crucial.

Go to a specialty runners' shoe store (not a mall store like Foot Locker) and the staff should be able to look at your gait and tell you whether you're pronating (feet lean inward while walking) or supponating (lean outward) and recommend shoes that are better for the condition. Someone upthread mentioned Brooks which were recommended for my supponatoon, as well as Mizuno. New Balance is another good brand but the CEO is a MAGAt.

I used to wear custom orthodics for low arches until one cracked. My shoe store has a device with a pad with sensors in it that you walk on and its software maps pressure points in your soles. The staff makes a recommendation of one of the many orthodics they have in stock to help correct. They range from $35 to $65.

Good luck, OP. My feet feel for you.

R18- I would love to find sneakers that give my poor feet 👣 proper support. A lot of my foot pain and problems would go away. In my size there’s almost no selection. I buy the same model New Balance sneakers over and over . It’s like I’m wearing flats. Those sneakers offer little support and no elevation.

by Anonymousreply 23July 6, 2024 12:27 PM

R19 - Thanks for those tips. I’ve been using inserts for years. The don’t really help. I will check out some foot/ ankle videos on YouTube.

Maybe I’ll take some Tylenol later and buy some epsom salt.

by Anonymousreply 24July 6, 2024 12:30 PM

Feets!

by Anonymousreply 25July 6, 2024 12:31 PM

R22- Wow - 3-5 miles a day even with your feet problems.

That gives me hope. I too walk everyday ( I was- until my feet started acting up horribly) 2 miles -5 days a week and 4.25 miles two days a week.

by Anonymousreply 26July 6, 2024 12:33 PM

R21- Do they sell shoes or sneakers and size 17? If I had normal sized feet there would be out a grand selection of styles available to me.

by Anonymousreply 27July 6, 2024 12:36 PM

Plantar fasciitis was the most painful condition next to sciatica that I’ve ever experienced. Both go on for weeks.

by Anonymousreply 28July 6, 2024 12:38 PM

OP, that very much sounds like a YOU problem.

by Anonymousreply 29July 6, 2024 12:49 PM

It’s not the work, it’s the stairs.

by Anonymousreply 30July 6, 2024 12:50 PM

you should actually look into walking mechanics and try to figure out if something is wrong with your gait - poor body mechanics are the cause of many injuries over time and it's not like they teach you that in school

by Anonymousreply 31July 6, 2024 1:06 PM

Throw your legs in the air, like you just don't CARE!!!!

by Anonymousreply 32July 6, 2024 1:18 PM

Op....sounds like u are getting long in the tooth....two miles ? Are you outta your mind. Knock off the walking so far, quit drinking and problem solved.

by Anonymousreply 33July 6, 2024 1:27 PM

R31- My friend said that. She said I should walk on the balls of my feet when I take step and it puts less pressure on the feet and my shoulders should be arched back.

by Anonymousreply 34July 6, 2024 1:33 PM

OP, are you overweight?

by Anonymousreply 35July 6, 2024 2:35 PM

You can still feel you feet. Props.

by Anonymousreply 36July 6, 2024 3:02 PM

I'm almost 64 and my feet feel 64 while everything else feels about 50. i'm dealing with neuropathy, and these very specifically located pains from time to time that come out of nowhere and last about 15 seconds.

I am with our 19 on the foot spa. I got one exactly 2 years ago and I use it all the time as recently as yesterday. Give your feet a treat! I hated it at first, but that all changed when I started doing one foot at a time. There's something about 2 feet that limits movement and affects balance, and it's a full house in the vessel. Mine is by Kendal and I got it on Amazon.

by Anonymousreply 37July 6, 2024 4:04 PM

I suffered from Plantar fasciitis along with a heel spur for years. It was so bad I could only walk for a little bit and then had to rest. I finally went to a doctor who did the surgery for it. They slice the tendon in your foot so it will grow back stronger. It worked, but ever since then I've worn Brooks shoes and LOVE them. Doctors don't do that surgery that often anymore, which sucks. There are stretches you can do to help the condition.

I also have custom inserts for two bunions on my right foot. However, after 2 years of wearing them, I developed pain on the outside of my ankle that felt very much like another heel spur. I bought a separate pair of brooks to wear around the house now and the pain has subsided to almost nothing. Had to get rid of my inserts from my foot doctor because they were too hard and caused their own issues.

Before we can make a diagnosis of your feet problems, we first need to conduct size meat verification. Pictures are required.

by Anonymousreply 40July 6, 2024 9:42 PM

Op you’re too big to walk. Silly thing.

by Anonymousreply 41July 6, 2024 9:44 PM

Don't cut them off.

You can still feel those fuckers.

by Anonymousreply 42July 7, 2024 2:46 AM

My feet were killing me because I was having a terrible case of gout. It manifested itself differently than it has in the past so I did not recognize it as gout. The nurse practitioner prescribed Prednisone. In about two days my feet were much better and I was able to resume my daily walk.

by Anonymousreply 43August 5, 2024 11:41 AM

OP, your size 13 platypus feet are never going to be comfortable inside those size 5 stilettos.

by Anonymousreply 44August 5, 2024 12:04 PM

Have you tried a good foot doctor?

by Anonymousreply 45August 5, 2024 12:36 PM

Chiming in with another recommendation for Brooks brand shoes. They put extra cushioning in the soles and come with wonderful inserts. If you continue to have foot pain however I'd get a referral to a podiatrist if I were you.

by Anonymousreply 46August 5, 2024 12:50 PM

R44- If you read the entire thread you would know that my feet are not size 13 they are size 17-E.

by Anonymousreply 47August 5, 2024 1:01 PM

I had terrible foot pain/aches, I work in a workplace with very thin carpets over concrete, which didn't help. I used orthotics, didn't seem to help. Getting Brooks (half a size larger so I could fit in the orthotics (which are PowerStep) helped tremendously.

by Anonymousreply 48August 5, 2024 1:45 PM

(On the recommendation of my podiatrist.)

by Anonymousreply 49August 5, 2024 1:46 PM

Wear flats.

by Anonymousreply 50August 5, 2024 4:17 PM

OP you need over the calf compression socks and a comfortable walking shoe.

Size 17E? You must be 6'4 or taller. Come sit next to me...

by Anonymousreply 51August 5, 2024 4:45 PM

Is your will up to date?

by Anonymousreply 52August 5, 2024 4:47 PM

If your right foot offends you, cut it off. And cut off the left one, too, Hoppy.

by Anonymousreply 53August 5, 2024 4:54 PM

Ride a rollercoaster.

by Anonymousreply 54August 5, 2024 5:00 PM

Amateurs....

by Anonymousreply 55August 9, 2024 12:04 PM

I'll take 'em.

by Anonymousreply 56August 10, 2024 12:26 AM

Do you have the diabeetus?

by Anonymousreply 57August 10, 2024 12:39 AM

Lose some weight FAT WHORE! Oh-sorry I was talking to myself.-maybe soak your feet deary?
