Adult Film Actor Justin Heath Smith, a/k/a “Austin Wolf,” Charged With Distribution Of Child Pornography
Damian Williams, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and James Smith, the Assistant Director in Charge of the New York Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”), announced today the arrest of JUSTIN HEATH SMITH, an adult film actor who uses the stage name “Austin Wolf.” SMITH is charged with sending and receiving hundreds of videos of child pornography via the Telegram application. Those videos depicted children as young as infants, including a video showing a 10-year-old child bound and raped. In addition to sharing child pornography via Telegram, SMITH is also charged with possessing hundreds of additional videos containing child pornography in his Manhattan apartment. SMITH will be presented later today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky in Manhattan federal court.

Since OP's article was published, the feds have requested and obtained two continuances. The preliminary hearing was supposed to take place in July, and that got moved to August 28. Now, it's been moved forward another 30 days to September 27, 2024.
The order also noted:
[quote] It is further found that Michael Baldassare, Esq. and Thomas Andrykovitz, Esq., counsel for defendant, and Assistant United States Attorney Getzel Berger have been engaged in, and are continuing, discussions concerning a possible disposition of this case; It is further found that the Government has requested a continuance of 30 days to engage in further discussions with counsel about the disposition of this case and that the defendant, through counsel, has consented that such a continuance may be granted for that purpose, specifically consenting to an extension of the deadlines under Rule 5.1 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure and 18 U.S.C. § 3161(b) for an additional 30 days; and It is further found that the granting of such a continuance is for good cause shown and best serves the ends of justice and outweighs the best interests of the public and the defendant in a speedy trial;
