Disco: The Soundtrack of Revolution
Stayed up very late watching *Disco: The Soundtrack of Revolution*! It's this wild PBS documentary that dives deep into the gay '70s scene in NYC. They talk about disco blowing up just as we were starting to stand up and be proud. gay men at underground loft parties where we danced our hearts out, despite all the crap we faced.
This doc really brings that vibe alive. It's not just about the music—it's about how we owned our freedom and joy through disco. Featuring rare videos and interviews with all the key figures in disco; I felt that energy.
It's more than just the music; it's about how music made us feel strong and proud of who we are. It's a total celebration of our history and a reminder to keep dancing through life. I highly recommend it.

Learned a few things - like that Afrobeat number that was beloved by all factions - and I still wish I had been a decade older because it looked fun as hell to be a part of that scene..

Not to be glib, but I'm genuinely happy and amazed that some of these key people are still alive—not just because they survived the AIDS epidemic, but also considering their age.

R1 R2, yes I saw those threads but since they didn't have much traction I thought I'd start a new one and perhaps achieve a more vibrant engaging discussion. Thx.
