What happened to Atlas Monroe vegan fried chicken?
Deborah Torres was on Shark Tank and turned down an offer of $1M for her company because she knew she had a hit. Her vegan fried chicken was the best on the market. In the years after the show she expanded and her business was thriving. Then last year everything fell apart. The company now has bad reviews everywhere (including the Better Business Bureau), the social media pages haven't been updated, and the website is gone. Did she go out of business? How did that happen so fast?
Anyone here know someone who worked at this place in San Diego? What happened?

Funny, because I watch Shark Tank and the other night Barbara Corcoran was talking about a grilled cheese and tomato soup business she invested in went out of business and the owners lost everything because they expanded too quickly and that's never a good idea. Maybe the same thing happened here.

Maybe people finally asked themselves "what's vegan chicken?"

R1 I remember watching that one years ago when they got the deal. The restaurant was called Tom & Chee. Sad to hear. It seems so hard to succeed in business it’s surprising anyone does.

Tom + Chee is still around, but the company that owns Gold Star Chili owns it now. The guys who started the business split years ago.

Why does everything have to be some vegan meat? Can no one learn that not every meal be thought of as having meat in it? There's no vegan chicken, can't they call it something else? Same with air fried, it's not fried, it's baked.

Shouldn't that be "chi'ken?"

She has a young child so it's curious how she thought she was going to juggle running a growing business and motherhood.

Never heard of this bitch. Googled the hell out of this chicken - and everything has just disappeared! And it looks yummy!

R11 I only had it once at a vegan restaurant. They used her patty for their Nashville Hot 'n Crispy sandwich. It was good.
