Her name was mentioned here a lot circa "Deadwood," along with Robin Weigert. She pinged to high heaven if you were a lesbian or discerning gay man, but otherwise men naively assumed she was too attractive to be a lesbian.
The pinging wasn't just about her demeanor. Her sensibilities were fairly gay if you read interviews like this one (in which Sobule is mentioned a few times).
