I love Carly and am glad she's still with us.

I really like some of her music. Particularly her soundtrack contributions to both "Heartburn", and "Working Girl", which I hear bits of on at least a weekly basis.

But I never want to hear so much as a fucking peep about "You're So Vain" or its' supposed subject EVER AGAIN...because it was FIFTY-TWO YEARS AGO, AND NO ONE FUCKING CARES.

Have You Seen Me Lately is an underrated Carly album

Her house on Martha’s Vineyard is so cozy and quaint. Unlike a lot of celebrity homes, it has a lived in feel to it.

I got a couple new arrangements of her singing Let the River Run and It Happens Every Day. Recorded recently in some kind of performance (wasn't a big stadium.) It sounded like her and it's nice enough, but age has really changed her voice. It sounded weak, for lack of a better word. A beautiful weak, if it makes any sense. The accommodations for the decline were very noticeable. Let the River Run was a ballad, rather than an anthem.

Fuck James Taylor for being such a hateful dick to her. It's not like your heroin-addicted, cheating ass was such a fucking treat!

The same thing is happening with Lainie Kazan’s version of A View to a Kill, r24. It’s like Duran Duran’s original never existed. There is so much fucking grift and nefarious jostling for hierarchy in the Bond world on streaming platforms, and mysteriously, Lainie Kazan always comes out of top.

I remember hearing this song played a few times on a local top 40 station back in the early spring of 1964. I never heard the name of the artists who did it, but I remembered enough of the lyrics to google the song many years later. Was I ever surprised to learn that the artists were Carly and Lucy Simon performing as the Simon Sisters.

I read way back in Rolling Stone when she was married to James Taylor that she couldn't have window curtains nor shades because he didn't like that. Strange.

Probably didn't need shades and curtains as their home on Martha's Vineyard (it was in his family forever, until they divorced and she got it) is completely hidden and secluded from public view. You have to really know where it is in order to find it - nothing gives it away from street-view.
