"I’ve read the script. No barebacking and no “All Of Us Strangers” semen droplets, thank God, but a fair amount of oral you-know-whattie. At least Paul Mescal isn’t costarring ... I’d rather be a child than lick semen droplets."
He’s confused. Licking semen droplets happened in Saltburn, not in All of Us Strangers.

Who is Jeff Walls?

^ Oops, meant Jeff Wells

r1 No, it happened in AoUS as well.

[quote] Who is Jeff Wells?
[R3] The most insane Oscar blogger in the world - a "profession" not know for psychological stability.
He has said and done so many crazy things that it's honestly just easier if you look at this post of various Wells' incidents.

Yes, but what does the director, Luca Guadagnino, think about the sex scenes in his movie "Queer"?
[quote] "Queer” will be my most personal film. It's an homage to Powell and Pressburger. I've seen The Red Shoes at least 50 times and I think they'd appreciate the sex scenes of “Queer,” which are numerous and quite scandalous.

Is he still friends with that unhinged Sasha Stone?

This is just another “Call Me By Your Name”. A straight director adapting a gay story by a straight author with a straight cast.
It’s a Hollywood version of gay for pay porn at this point.
It’s getting as boring as white Hollywood making slavery era movies about black people.
Then again, “Bros” wasn’t any better.

And to add to R8, I really enjoyed “I Love You Phillip Morris”. It was a refreshing movie to me as a homo. I liked that it was an unconventional love story about homosexuality.

Luca is not straight.

R7, Sasha is not unhinged!
But, I find it remarkable how she used to have Trump derangement syndrome after he won in 2016, and now she’s done a 180 and she’s voting for him.

If she's voting for Trump then she's unhinged

So the movie will be like The Red Shoes with gay blowjobs?

[quote] A straight director adapting a gay story by a straight author
Guadagnino is not straight; Burroughs was not straight.

7, Wells and Stone used do a podcast together and then stopped after a particularly awful episode.
It was like Michael Shannon and Ashley Judd spraying each other with insecticide in “Bug”.
A discussion about the Swift-Kelce relationship descended into an angry series of arguments where Stone references the "3.10 to Yuma" incident, refers to non-white people as "other versions of humanity" and explains her theory that the Democratic Party is responsible for spliced animal-superweapons.
Glenn Kenny said of the episode: "this really is the Bizarro World ideal of a podcast. Two people who hate themselves and hate each other discuss topics they hate. Of course the fact that I listen must mean that I, too, hate myself at some level."

Hmm. I’ve read the Burroughs book multiple times and for the life of me, I don’t recall there being a lot of sex. There was certainly a lot of longing but it wasn’t full of sex. I recall a lot of guilt about killing his wife. Oh well.

And Jeffrey Wells is the same one compared to his erstwhile bestie Sasha Stone, who has gone full Trumper.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 25, 2024 5:59 PM |
Stone was somehow radicalised by a combination of the following situations:
- The Hillary loss - The Green Book backlash - The critical success of Gerwig's "Little Women" - The 2020 Black Live Matters protest - People being upset about January 6 - And I am pretty sure she read "1984" which was her first since in maybe 35 years.
And again I have to say that these events "somehow" transformed a Hillary supporter into a Trump fanatic.
I mean, she has always been crazy (wasn't she screaming at Susan Sarandon on Twitter during the 2016 election that she would never cover the actress' work again?), but she has taken it up another couple of levels.
All of her theories are Q'Anon-adjacent nonsense like spliced animals roaming the world and the prospect of a "Great Awakening" sweeping away the non-Trumpers.

Hilariously, she blocked me in 2008 (!) when she was anti-Obama/pro-Hillary and yelling about “old white men”. I made some (bitchy) remark about how she’s an “old white woman”, hypocrisy, etc. Now she hates the the anti-“old white men” brigade.

In the comments section that is absolutely wild.

R21/OP I listened to the free section of the podcast - I think I missed her talking about “other versions of humanity” if it was in that first half hour. When did she say it?
Sasha is such a humorless scold. Wells was wanting to have a fun celebrity gossip about how long Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will last given they are both Type A and hyper ambitious and she wouldn’t hear a frivolous word about her Aryan princess (not that Taylor considers herself an Aryan princess but Sasha seems to).
