She talks about the time she guest starred on The Golden Girls and how she became very good friends with Bea Arthur. She looks amazing at 84. She's very funny and full of energy. Great interview.
Wow, she looks great.

OMG! No Botox and fillers! And she looks fucking amazing. Go Brenda!

I just recently discovered Harvey Brownstone.
I’m really impressed with the amount of preparation he does for these interviews.
He could have been another Dick Cavett.

If he prepares for the interviews, he couldn't have been Dick Cavett.

Cher was the first choice to play the part that went to Brenda but it didn't work out.
In interviews, Cher always says this was a regret along with not appearing on the X files. They ended up using a drag queen instead.
Love Brenda. She looks natural and healthy, proving it can be done. No visible work.
And she survived Faye Dunaway (professionally) and Michael Douglas (romantically). That's a real survivor.

Her Lauren Bacall fight story is interesting.

I loved when she dragged Faye Dunaway in this interview when they asked her about Supergirl.

Damn, that was a fascinating interview. She is a delight. Funny, charming, talented, knows her business, great attitude about life. And oh so great stories. Love her.
Brenda is one of the last of the good ol' broads.

Her interview on the late Gilbert Gottfried's podcast was great — she was a down-to-earth broad who worked with and/or knew everyone in Hollywood over several decades. Gave the impression she was the kind of person who would happily talk your ear off if you approached and said hi.

She has Nancy Pelosi eyes.

Her breathing seems less laboured post-menopause.

her wiki page lists her marriages......i love how none them appear to have weighed her down.
did she infer that she left a relationship when she moved from LA to NYC?

She confirmed that Bea thought she was the star of Golden Girls.
Just like Howie Mandel, she can't pronounce Rue's last name correctly.

I saw Brenda opposite DL fave Sally Struthers in The Odd Couple and I never laughed so hard in my life.

she had been nominated for a Tony 3 times before her breakthrough in Midnight Cowboy
shows you how her colleagues embraced her early on. / i believe her first soap was in 1962...
she's been at it for 62 years
a three-time Tony Award nominee, for
Best Featured Actress in a Play (Cactus Flower),
Best Actress in a Musical (How Now, Dow Jones), and
Best Actress in a Play (The Goodbye People).

I wish she had done the film version of Cactus Flower instead of Goldie.

Brenda Vaccaro comes off as an absolute mensch in all her interviews.
Echoing the love for her appearance Gilbert Gottfried podcast a while back.

I enjoyed when she agreed to purchase Jon Voight and seemed particularly amazed and concerned when Dustin Hoffman fell down the front stairs.

Is she good in Once is Not Enough?
That always seemed like a strange Oscar nomination since the movie was supposed to be so bad.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | June 23, 2024 6:47 AM |
I haven't seen it since it came out, r40. I remember it as being a very Brenda Vaccaro role and her nomination wasn't surprising. Also, it wouldn't have been surprising had she not been nominated..

She’s been married for 38 years! Her husband is very handsome.

Unlike Michael, the husband doesn't do the cunny linguini - once was more than enough.

Sadly, she and hubby are separated. He's much younger and very handsome.

If the movie is anything like the book, the Linda Riggs character is by far and away the highlight.
Never saw the movie, but the book is very depressing and morose. And there's a really disturbing, graphic scene where a group of nuns get attacked.
My first Susann book, and it was such a downer.

Yes, and Brenda's casting seemed like a perfect fit.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | June 23, 2024 7:39 PM |
Brenda was thought to be the frontrunner for the Oscar. On the other hand, Once is Not Enough featured the spectacularly unerotic lesbian scenes between Melina Mercouri and Alexis Smith. See, Follies can be worked into any thread.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | June 23, 2024 8:12 PM |
I found Once Is Not Enough on YouTube ages ago and it was a fun watch. Not the camp fest VOD is but Brenda was most certainly deserving of at least a nomination.

I remember when she and Michael Douglas were a couple. MD was younger and the press made a big deal about it. I believe it was while he was co-starring on STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | October 14, 2024 3:20 PM |
I can’t get over how great she looks. She probably doesn’t have a great desire to work much anymore, but I hope she gets at least one more great role.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | October 14, 2024 3:46 PM |
