Obviously, the group is the Beach Boys, but, who's the guy with his eyes closed and bopping his head back and forth, and who's the good looking one standing by himself at the mic?
Dennis Wilson is the hot one. Brian Wilson is the genius.

Thanks, R1. Who's the one at the 41-43 second mark? The one with his eyes closed. Dennis??
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 18, 2024 2:54 AM |
I meant to say Brian, not Dennis.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 18, 2024 2:57 AM |
I think the guy you're thinking of is Bruce Johnston.

The Wrecking Crew did the studio work so Dennis had nothing to do in that clip except wink. He was cuter than Hal Blaine though. But it was Hal who played on the record and on just about every other pop record out there at the time. Amazing drummer. He did the famous intro on the Hawaii 5-0 theme. Glen Campbell was a member of the Wrecking Crew, played on BB records, and even took Brian's place on tour in the mid-60s.

I haven’t heard that song in a while. Holy shit, what a masterpiece.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | June 18, 2024 3:59 AM |
Here's a better clip, wish I'd have linked this one in my op.
So far, Brian is the guy in the dark shirt, the cute one is Dennis, and the drummer is session musician, Hal Blaine.

All of the Beach Boys sang on Good Vibrations.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 18, 2024 5:09 AM |
See Dennis solo @ 1:03-1:09.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | June 18, 2024 5:17 AM |
Well that sent me down the rabbit hole of BB videos. There’s a two part session recording of God Only Knows, Brian producing and directing the wrecking crew. It explains how really unusual the arrangement was.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 18, 2024 6:00 AM |
The guy singing solo at the microphone is Mike Love, the Wilson’s cousin. He’s still touring today under the BB name but with new musicians.

Brian Wilson tours Pet Sounds with the Wondermints:

Brian Wilson tours SMILE with the Wondermints. I like this album even more than Pet Sounds.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | June 18, 2024 6:25 AM |
I had no idea how complex and layered this song is.

Oh, dear.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 18, 2024 5:09 PM |
Good Vibrations must have made the Beatles nervous, I'd guess.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 18, 2024 7:27 PM |
It did.
Poor Dennis Wilson, he went the way of Natalie Wood. But all the girls at Hawthorne High had the hots for him.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 18, 2024 7:34 PM |
Dennis Wilson and Christine McVie had a fling for a while. RIP you two.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | June 18, 2024 7:45 PM |
Sorry, I don't do Elon links.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | June 18, 2024 7:48 PM |
I linked a better video at R7, R19.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 18, 2024 10:00 PM |
R1 agree. Dennis was hot as motherfuckin' SHIT yo. Pure sex. Huge case of BDF too. I bet he was swingin' some PIPE.
He had the life. All the sex he wanted, with any girl. Living in a mansion on Sunset. All pleasure, very little work. Not too shabby
by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 18, 2024 10:21 PM |
Ugh! Hated them and all the “bop bop” non music.
Don’t forget about Dennis and the Manson girls.

I hope you found mine, I spent WEEKENDS making them!!!

R21 um— you do know how it ended?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 19, 2024 2:03 AM |
R22 knows only what he learned on VH1
by Anonymous | reply 25 | June 19, 2024 2:05 AM |
Did he do it in an alley? On a boat? Did he do it in jail?
"According to biographer Steven Gaines, Dennis had told friends that he had been raped by "black men", although the details Dennis gave were inconsistent, having variously disputing the year of the incident, while in jail, in an alley, or on his Harmony boat. Gaines wrote, "Obviously, this was a recurring fantasy, and whether or not any of these stories is true remains unknown."

Just watched the Beach Boys documentary on Disney Plus. I've been paying attention to them since the sixties, so there wasn't much I didn't know, but still a nice way to spend a couple of hours with my favorite band.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | June 19, 2024 5:27 AM |
I believe Dennis was the most physically abused by his father, Brian the most emotionally/mentally abused. Their father Murray was a monster. The extraordinary growth in their music in spite of that is amazing.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 19, 2024 8:14 AM |
Nah R16. The Beatles made Brian nervous.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 19, 2024 8:39 AM |
R1 os right, Dennis was hot. Why does God always kill such hot snatch?! Why?!
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 23, 2024 2:19 AM |
i dont even need to watch this shit-
Dennis Wilson is one of he hottest dudes who ever lived.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 23, 2024 2:28 AM |
Denis was the only BB who actually surfed.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | June 23, 2024 3:00 AM |
DENNIS ^^ 😠
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 23, 2024 3:01 AM |
R34 is correct...
A very forelorn /odd singing voice- Pacific Ocean Blue?
I am not THAT old, but finally listened to that album of his..
His death was so haunting and his voice was odd. yet compelling
And my god, he was handsome
by Anonymous | reply 36 | June 23, 2024 3:18 AM |
With the exception of Dennis, The Beach Boys were a homely band.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | June 23, 2024 3:21 AM |
If that's what you think the point is, r37, you have a homely mind.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | June 23, 2024 3:23 AM |
No, Carl was cute even though chubby. Mike Love was ugly inside and out. He was so jealous of the Wilson brothers.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | June 23, 2024 6:02 AM |
Aww, man. RIP, Brian Wilson.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | June 11, 2025 5:43 PM |
Great footage, but why would you film the exhaustive recording process? I wonder if this was just a pantomime for publicity purposes?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | June 11, 2025 5:52 PM |
R41 Maybe Brian wanted to show the process because that was what he was really interested in, not the performance.
