Do you still enjoy watching movies knowing that actors involved are abusers?
I have always been a great movie lover, but after spending too much time on the internet and on gossip sites such as Datalounge and finding out that so many actors have been involved or accused of (domestic) abuse or sexual abuse, I have a hard time enjoying movies with some people.
Knowing too much about them, especially such bad stuff, does kind of limit my enjoyment of their movies. Do you feel so as well or am to sensitive.
Cary Grant was also accused of domestic violence with two of his ex-wives. Can I still enjoy his movies?

Yes, for the same reason I don't care that felons cooked my Denny's grand slam

If they are dead, why would you feel any qualms at all? There isn’t any possibility of your enjoyment enabling ongoing or future abusive behavior IRL even indirectly.
Art and the artist are different things.

ElderLez, there is no difference whether they are dead or alive.
My favorite filmmaker is Woody Allen and I had this moral dilemma, but then I decided that I would not let this important part of my cultural upbringing be taken away from me. I mean, films are not guilty of any crime. Same with Polanski, he is convicted child molester, but his films are great.
The Stones, Led Zeppelin were sleazy douchebags. Jim Morrison was aggressive drunkard and bully. Picasso abused women.
Unfortunately, there is not enough masterpieces made by Mother Theresa and her nuns. I am afraud that if we cancelled all the abusers, creeps and assholes in arts there wouldn't be much left.
So, Concerned, enjoy it without feeling guilty. As a socialist, look at it as common human heritage.

I can’t watch Mel Gibson in anything knowing what a piece of crap anti-semite he is

R3, Mother Theresa was a monster in her own way who should definitely have been cancelled, encouraging suffering over anything else.

R3 I respect your opinion, but I find the question of living artists more complex for myself.
Certainly there is no reason not to listen to and enjoy an album that one already owns. But personally I try to avoid things that would financially enable a person actively engaging in the bad behavior. For instance I wouldn’t have attended a concert James Levine was conducting, back when he was still working and being protected by his wealthy patrons.

This is just looking for a problem, mind your own business, it's not your concern. But Mel Gibson is a no. Tom Selleck a no too, fuck those cum wads
