Where was that BITCH all those years when JR verbally abused her and she had no one to turn to except the bottle.

Acting so bad it's good from both Barbara and Martha. I was hoping Miss Ellie would take a swing at Barbara and then kick when she was down.

Sue Ellen took to the bottle because JR was banging any hot chick who crossed his path.

Patricia Shephard was a cunt and that wig looks like something that was rejected by Jane Wyman for Angela Channing.
Why were Kristin and Sue Ellen so far apart in age?

Martha Scott is just awful in that clip.

Classic Miss Ellie. Entirely sensible & rational in the face of wild, ridiculous accusations. (As if *she* had any control over J.R.'s marriage!)

Loved Martha Scott as Bob Newhart's mother on the original Bob Newhart show.

This was a good scene. For once someone actually spat directly in Ellie's face. Usually everybody was so respectful of her. Nobody ever gave her shit. This was a very rare occasion where somebody rattled Ellie's cage and she had to defend herself. We have seen a hundred times where Ellie dresses someone down because they did something wrong. This scene makes Ellie more interesting. This is a good example why the first half of the dream season was so much better than the prior season and all the other seasons after.

Block that metaphor!
