Hollywood's creative death means nearly sixty-year-old women are resurrecting a nearly thirty year old romcom

"Practical Magic" is so old that the music used for the tv spots was Meredith Brooks's "Bitch."

Now, in a normal world, "Practical Magic" would be rebooted with an actress in her 20s or 30s with Kidman and Bullock doing supporting roles.

Even if the world of a few years ago, "Practical Magic" would be greenlit as a straight-to-streaming sequel for HBO Max.

But in the world we live in now, where Hollywood does not want to try anything new, and does not want to make movie stars out of 20 and 30 year old people, this is what we are getting.

Best news I've heard all year, I LOVE that movie! Might be my favourite movie of all time.

I’m here for it.

[quote] Currently, Kidman can be seen starring in Expats, Prime Video’s awards-contending miniseries from The Farewell‘s Lulu Wang. Next to be seen starring opposite Zac Efron and Joey King in Netflix’s rom-com A Family Affair, out June 28, her upcoming slate also includes Netflix’s murder mystery series The Perfect Couple, the Amazon series Kay Scarpetta and feature thriller Holland, Michigan, the second seasons of Paramount+’s Lioness and Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers, and Halina Reijn’s A24 pic Babygirl, among other projects.

That’s…a lot of projects. Especially for an actress in her mid-50s.

Wiest and Channing were the best part of the original. If they can get them, I'm in.

^ Carol Channing was terrifying as the coven’s dark priestess. They’ll never be able to recast that part properly.

Nicole Kidman says yes to everything. Nicole doesn't care about prestige anymore. She must keep herself in the public eye no matter what, otherwise she begins to fade away like Marty's siblings in Back to the Future.
