Apps that take advantage of your enabling notifications to send you ads.

Even worse: notifications and ads in the Settings app from Apple trying to sell subscriptions to Apple TV, Apple Music, and their other ~services~.

If you go deep enough into the app settings (sometimes three or four layers) you can turn off “promotional” notifications, but not from the Apple settings

Uber did the same thing a few days ago to me. I have all ad notifications turned off inside the app, but it still sends some Uber+/Uber Gold ad to my lock screen. I laughed when I disabled notifications on the device, because I'm going to wonder why I'm not getting ride notifications in the future. But fuck them completely.

I don't believe that works for Uber, r2 - so annoying.

Why would you allow any type of notification except for emergency (fire, hurricane, etc.)? Turn them all off.
