That was really bad.

by Anonymousreply 1June 10, 2024 4:58 PM

Grant Tinker was no Gary Morton.

by Anonymousreply 2June 10, 2024 5:40 PM

Rose Marie could have pulled this off.

by Anonymousreply 3June 10, 2024 5:42 PM

Georgette should have talked her out of it.

by Anonymousreply 4June 10, 2024 5:42 PM

I was waiting to see Doug Kershaw but I couldn't watch any more. Pretty bad.

by Anonymousreply 5June 10, 2024 6:35 PM

Did she ever sing her songs from Breakfast at Tiffany's again?

OMG whose idea was this? Lucy shouldn't have lent her Gary so he could have talked her out of it.

Ann Miller sued for hairstyle copyright infringement in the second production number.

by Anonymousreply 8June 10, 2024 7:56 PM

MTM wanted to be Ann-Margret.

by Anonymousreply 9June 10, 2024 8:57 PM

Mary was a better dancer than A-M...in my humble opinion.

by Anonymousreply 10June 10, 2024 8:58 PM

Well I-I-I liked it! You had to be in the bicentennial spirit to truly comprehend this.

by Anonymousreply 11June 10, 2024 10:40 PM

CBS let her get away with too much spunk.

by Anonymousreply 12June 10, 2024 10:47 PM

Who's the bleprechaun?

by Anonymousreply 13June 11, 2024 12:32 AM

"Mary's Incredible Dream" was no "Lucy in London".

by Anonymousreply 14June 11, 2024 12:47 AM

If only it had been "Mary's Incredible Wet Dream."

by Anonymousreply 15June 11, 2024 12:50 AM

I've seen a lot of really bad shit on TV but this is among the worst. This is Small Wonder bad. Fuck this is Brady Variety Hour bad. No. No. I think the Brady Variety Hour was better. What the fuck was anyone involved thinking?

by Anonymousreply 16June 11, 2024 12:54 AM

She’s incredibly bad and the first 7 minutes have to be the worst TV I have ever seen. That was all I could handle. And I saw “Turn On,” and the Chevy Chase special. This is worse.

by Anonymousreply 17June 11, 2024 1:15 AM

Good Lord, Mary must have mistakenly taken LSD instead of her usual insulin when taping this dreck.

by Anonymousreply 18June 11, 2024 2:53 AM

Was this up against The Paul Lynde Halloween special for the Best Variety Emmy of 1976?

by Anonymousreply 19June 11, 2024 3:18 AM

R8 Ann Miller was an incredible dancer. MTM was not. And that fake smile plastered on her face, ouch.

by Anonymousreply 20June 11, 2024 3:19 AM

Oh, Mary.

Sweet, gullible Mary.

by Anonymousreply 21June 11, 2024 3:21 AM

Meanwhile, Dick Van Dyke was also at CBS destroying The Carol Burnett Show.

by Anonymousreply 22June 11, 2024 3:22 AM

I'm sorry Mary, but Lars wanted to watch "The Nancy Walker Show" and you know how Lars is.

by Anonymousreply 23June 11, 2024 3:33 AM

Snap out of it Mary!

by Anonymousreply 24June 11, 2024 3:36 AM

Gary had his hands full that year.

^ Stinks worse than Gary's dump.

by Anonymousreply 26June 11, 2024 5:14 AM

If only Grant Tinker had allowed Mary to dance in The MTM Show, the way Carl Reiner did in The Dick Van Dyke Show, she wouldn’t have had so much buildup of thwarted desire that by1976, it resulted in “Mary’s Incredible Dream.”

by Anonymousreply 27June 11, 2024 6:45 PM

What the fuck was Mary thinking???? No Shields and Yarnell??!!!
