Is Jock Itch considered an STD?
With all this talk about a fungal infection spreading among gay men, I began wondering if regular jock itch is commonly thought of a an STD.
I had a bad case my junior year in HS. At first, I had no idea what it was and thought I had some kind of skin cancer before the dr told me it was just jock itch.
I was sexually active with a few guys but nothing more than some frottage and oral. Never thought to associate jock itch with my sex life.

They can be transmitted through sexual contact but aren’t STDs.

Commercials should do more to prepare boys for the indignities of onset b.o and genital irritation. Glad your doc was able to lick your jock itch problem.

Jock itch is just a routine fungal infection cured with topical Clotrimazole. It is contagious, but not considered sexually transmitted.
I had weird sores that broke out on the corners of my mouth when I was stressed or if I stretched my mouth too wide... ahem. Anyway, they befuddled my doctor and dermatologist. I was out of town and had a tooth chip so my dentist recommended one in there. When I arrived, I asked the assistant for a sample of bactrim and a q-tip to coat the corners of my mouth to prevent another breakout; the dentist asked why and when I explained it he said it was fungal and use jock itch cream and viola, it cleared and only came back once, decades ago.
