Finally an exciting Philly Pride Parade.

I went fairly late yesterday. I DID notice that this pride was VERY active and tons of people were there. Some Prides have been very lackluster. This one felt very populated and festive. I chatted with friends around 12th and pine and watched the young kids dance. Then went to the bikestop. On the way there was a Christian “preacher” with a megaphone. About a half dozen cops surrounding him. Oddly, the preacher seemed to be preacher on behalf of queers, but in a rambling and nearly nonsensical way.

So many middle aged white women.

The clips of fighting are involving solely Philly black folks, which is a regular thing. I highly doubt it was about Pride Inc vs Palestine Gay Inc.

They tried — unsuccessfully — to stop the Parade in DC, but the cops were having none of it. They “escorted” them out of the street.

Can we start having pride at the country club? Have a dress code? No protestors? Catered food?
