The remake of "The Wicker Man" was a big blow to both his career and to Nic Cage's, especially since it kept featuring Cage hitting women right in the face. Not a good look for the age of #MeToo.
Cage's career has taken a significant downturn since, and I don't think LaBute's ever recorvered.
