Queer Theory destroys gay rights by making argument for Christians

Thanks to the queer movement's advocacy for more sexual liberation and violation of heterosexual norms. The foundation for gay rights has slowly been eroding. By advocating for sexual fluidity, Christians and conservatives can now argue that therapies like conversion therapy are legitimate. Defining sexual orientation as " sexual and emotional attraction to another person and the behavior and/or social affiliation that may result from this attraction. " Leads gay people open to attack as it makes it more like a sports club than an ethnic minority.

You know, I was recently thinking that gay porn in recent years, with the inclusion of transgenders and gay performers dabbling in straight porn, it does play into "it's a choice" type of thing and it could give credence to the conversion therapy argument.

by Anonymousreply 1May 26, 2024 10:25 AM

Don't listen to Christians.

by Anonymousreply 2May 26, 2024 11:25 AM

Or Jews or Muslims or anyone else religious because they’re all fucking insane.

We're nothing like an ethnic minority, either.

We are here and we are queer. Get use to it,

For some even many their choice of sexual activity is in fact a choice. Certainly for women. And for many men , it’s about opportunity and ease of sex not a life time commitment or even an attraction for those they are having sex with.

The 92.8% in the US are not sitting around thinking of all the gay related stuff people on DL are consumed with. They are not thinking about the Bible and some guy having sex with another guy. There will be no gay witch hunt that is not going to happen. Unless.

Unless the 92.8% become afraid of the 7.2% because of an epidemic(s) of sexually transmitted diseases, if that ever happens a lot of the Q for whom it is a choice will become straighter than a straight line,

Monkeypox was a bullet dogged. HIV and Syphilis are for the most part a bullet dogged. It helps to be lucky.

by Anonymousreply 5May 26, 2024 1:35 PM

It's all about perception of societal benefits and the economy.

If the economy tanks further, and/or there's a perception that LGBTQ+ people have some sort of benefit in society that straight people do not, that's when they'll start rounding us up.

by Anonymousreply 6May 26, 2024 1:37 PM

Does that make you feel superior, R5?

Get over yourself.

by Anonymousreply 7May 26, 2024 1:53 PM

A bullet "dogged"??

Oh, dear!

by Anonymousreply 8May 26, 2024 2:14 PM

R5 is the syphilis troll, ignore her.

Think of me as a weather forecaster. I don’t create the weather I don’t take any joy in the weather I just report on the weather.

And you would have to be a fool to think the 92.8% won’t go on a witch hunt if they ever become afraid of gay men..

You can laugh about this if it never happens.

The 92.6% don’t play the its only a std and can be treated so it’s not a big deal .

by Anonymousreply 10May 26, 2024 2:36 PM

Blaming the victims. You're a cliche OP.

by Anonymousreply 11May 26, 2024 3:15 PM

[quote] Think of me as a weather forecaster. I don’t create the weather I don’t take any joy in the weather I just report on the weather.

Drawing a comparison between yourself and someone whose standpoint is science based is too funny R10.

[quote] The 92.6% don’t play the its only a std and can be treated so it’s not a big deal .

85% of whom have an incurable yet treatable STD themselves (HPV).

[quote] HIV and Syphilis are for the most part a bullet dogged. (sic)

This sentence from your previous comment just shows your total lack of comprehension of HIV, syphilis, and history (both recent and further back). Honestly go pick up a book or go visit your local clinic and inform yourself I am begging you 😂

HIV , except for IV drug addicts, those that needed blood transfusions, those who exchanged sex for drugs on the streets, gay men, the high risk, never became a wide spread straight problem. Most straights have no idea what PrEP is and would not care if they did know. Most straights don’t know anyone personally that has had AIDS or HIV.

Syphilis is pretty much the same. If you work in syphilis control you know that straights that live in Birmingham Mich are not going to be your clientele. It’s going to be the exact same risks groups as for HIV.

But my point was that if a sexually transmitted disease like HIV or like monkeypox was being transmitted ever goes from being a gay issue to something that then impacts the majority and their children then the gay witch hunts will start. Until then or if then there will be no witch hunts at all.

by Anonymousreply 13May 26, 2024 7:46 PM

R13 you are deluded. Take your own advice and “stay lucky” I guess, whatever the fuck that means.

If a disease spreads among the general population, then there is no reason that it would incubate within the gay population for any meaningful amount of time for a scenario you’re describing wherein people would attribute it to being “gay people’s fault”. Because it would immediately spread within the general population. You’re describing a scenario that is not possible. I really hope you figure out your life so that you don’t spend so much time focused on this “us versus them” endgame that you’ve dedicated so much of your time to, but it seems unlikely, you’ve been doing this for years now on here at this point.

by Anonymousreply 14May 26, 2024 8:11 PM

Brought to you by the people who pretend that heterosexual sex inexplicably changes to homosexual sex based on the declared pronouns of the male and female involved. That's some hilariously demented magical thinking right there.

I’d say that is exactly what happened with AIDS. It was seen very early , like from before the first news article, as a gay male high risk disease. Called the fucking gay plague. AIDS never jumped the shark and became a major straight issue except for the very high risk like drug addicts. Not once the high risk could no longer donate blood.

But if it had jumped the shark and been seen as a major straight risk then the camps that were only being discussed on the right would have gone main stream. HIV proved not to be a major risk for most straights and was seen as easily avoided.

If monkey pox after being seen as a gay problem initially, which it was, then became a risk to pre schoolers good luck being a gay pre school teacher. Or hairdresser.

by Anonymousreply 16May 26, 2024 8:39 PM

R16 so many ifs and coulds and woulds and potentiallys and maybes and therefores and probablys required to make a barely there point?

Again, nothing you are saying is feasible reality. You need all these conditionals to tape together whatever half baked, under-researched, unscientific, totally fictional ideas you have in your head because you have a weird desire to scaremonger people (who are much smarter than you think and see right through your dross) and you rinse and repeat your weird disease war desires on here every couple of months. Talk to a therapist honestly.

by Anonymousreply 22June 6, 2024 7:47 AM

You're bumping this thread in honor of rage farming, r22.

by Anonymousreply 23June 6, 2024 7:52 AM

rage farming = tranz speak.

fragile masculinity = tranz speak.

by Anonymousreply 24June 6, 2024 8:25 AM

Not rage farming, I am concerned about the future. Some people want answers and strategies to any potential backlash. Putting our heads in the sand about these issues will only harm us in the long run. It's easy to blame the right and Trump, but what about conservatives in our everyday lives? Not every gay person lives in a liberal bubble.

by Anonymousreply 25June 6, 2024 8:53 AM

Rage farming/rage baiting is an industry term, as is concern trolling (r25).

Also, this is a from a feminist perspective on concern trolling, but applies here:

Concern troll tactics:

- tone policing

- expressing qualified support for feminist goals

- retreating from rather than engaging with answers to questions they post

- using the More flies with honey argument

- using the You're being emotional argument

- using the Harming the community argument

- using the Male experience trump card argument

An interesting comment to make considering it’s Pride month. A month of not keeping things to oneself. Even fucking parades to announce to the world many who never asked or wanted to know.

. Although who does not like a good parade even former President Donald Trump.

It's the straights that spread around here there's not enough gays to make a difference, it's all straights and STIs here.
