Tupac is in there. Missy Elliott is in there. Notorious B.I.G. is in there. This seems like a glaring oversight.
Why isn't Snoop in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?

R1, there are tons of people in there who aren't rock & roll. That ship sailed a long time ago.

Jesus, R1 - that ship has sailed. Maybe it's mislabeled, but it isn't just a rock and roll genre hall of fame, more like a popular music hall of fame - which has been apparent for decades.

There's plenty of oversights. It's not an exact science. And he could still get in.

I want a Chubby Checker in the Hall. The man was only responsible for igniting a worldwide dance craze that saw a generation wagging its ass off in a phenomenon that saw his single “The Twist” reach number one on two occasions (1960 and 1962). He racked up 23 hit singles besides. He’s still alive. It would be a sweet gesture to honor the guy.

He’s next in line, behind William Hung and Pia Zadora.

There are so many acts over the last 15-20 years that have no business in the R&RHOF because they are not even tangentially related to rock and roll. Janet Jackson is in it but Paul Revere and The Raiders is not? Big Star is not? The New York Dolls are not? Their influence was massive and their music still resonates today, but instead they induct acts that have no business being in there. If they want to include Janet Jackson, Snoop Dog, and other non rock acts, then change the name and concept to Popular Music Hall of Fame. Many of the earlier inductees that were R&B, country blues, jazz, were profoundly talented and highly inspirational to subsequent generations that were rock acts.
