INSUFFERABLE

Wow…Super interesting. Still, it’s better than reading a trump campaign pamphlet.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 25, 2024 12:54 AM |
That’s not her—it’s Irwin Corey on the right. Duh.

I watched it years ago r4, by chance. Great movie. Up until then I had only known her from Barney Miller. Then when I'd read her name on a cast list in TV GUIDE I'd check it out.
I remember her in an early supporting role in that Polly Bergen mental case movie. camp spectacular

Loved her as the mother in Breaking Away. She had a great screen presence.

She was married to Jay (TheatreworksUSA) Harnick, Sheldon's brother.

Mary Rodgers does NOT have nice things to say about her in her biography.

Fantastic!
I need something new to jack off to.

I like her as an actress, but I also think she looks like the wife of a Keebler elf.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 25, 2024 3:21 AM |
You forgot Double Trouble cunt OP.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 25, 2024 3:29 AM |
She was the EXACT same in every role.

This is fucking DL. She was in the OBC of Company.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 25, 2024 4:28 AM |
Good long interview from a couple of years ago, she's still very sharp and has lots of entertaining stories.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 25, 2024 4:54 AM |
She's getting a lot of dick for someone her age.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 25, 2024 6:49 AM |
Uncle?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 25, 2024 6:51 AM |
I recall a poster years ago who said she ruined everything she was in.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 25, 2024 3:18 PM |
Lovely! She could pass for a Spring-like 60, just like me!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 25, 2024 3:25 PM |
I lover her as Barney Miller’s wife.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 25, 2024 3:44 PM |
Barbara and Hal Linden seemed well suited for each other -- annoyingly insufferable.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 25, 2024 3:47 PM |
With looks like that in the upper right, CBS should hire her to be the new Barnaby Jones.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 25, 2024 7:59 PM |
She looks like an ancient baby bird.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 25, 2024 10:15 PM |
She looks like a Who from Whoville.

I. HATE. THIS. POMPOUS. ARROGANT. HAUGHTY. CHILLY. SELF-PROUD. SELF-SATISFIED. FETID. RANCID. PUSBAG.

Her smarm even shows up when she guests on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. She’s supposed to be sexy and Murray is supposed to be attracted to her. But how could he be when she already was/is?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 25, 2024 11:34 PM |
r31 "But how could he be when she already was/is? "
What?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 25, 2024 11:36 PM |
Funny you should say that r25. She killed a bird with her bare hands in that "Polly Bergen goes cuckoo" movie.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 25, 2024 11:48 PM |
R32, how could he be attracted to her when she already is.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 26, 2024 12:21 AM |
She’s only alive because Satan doesn’t want her.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 26, 2024 12:22 AM |
She was too young to play Brooke Sheild's grandmother in the awful 'Suddenly Susan'. She should've played her mother - more age appropriate.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 26, 2024 12:57 AM |
She's only 34 years older than Shields - too young to be her Granny.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 26, 2024 12:59 AM |
R31 Strangers in the night - exchanging glances - Hey!
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 26, 2024 1:22 AM |
R1 NAILED it.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 26, 2024 1:33 AM |
I liked her as Michael Steadman's mom in 'thirtysomething' even though she was only in a couple of episodes.

Brilliant woman! Loved that interview with her at r17, and you should all listen to it but go right to about the 24 minute mark when she gets into Company and her more familiar credits. Lots of great stories and opinions.
She (surprisingly) loved Stritch, Harvey Fierstein and many others she names, but not Hal Prince, Michael Bennett, Tammy Grimes or Barbara Baxley. But even of those she speaks of with less fondness, there's a fairness that comes out. And she's quite hard on herself. I wish she was asked about Goldie Hawn and Hal Linden but, alas, not.
The interviewer is only 14 years old but he knows his stuff.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 26, 2024 2:21 AM |
r34 keep trying
"how could he be attracted to her when she already is."
Already is what???
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 26, 2024 5:01 AM |
Does she get asked about Double Trouble in the interview?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 26, 2024 5:03 PM |
R43 big time
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 26, 2024 5:04 PM |
I liked her playing the eccentric aunt on Double Trouble. That was a good show that NBC never gave much of a chance to. Even though they initially hyped it and Jean and Liz Sagal up as being the next big things. The Manhattan retool actually worked much better than the original Midwest suburb setting, even though we lost hottie Donnelly Rhodes in the process.

I saw One Potato, Two Potato when I was about 12 and I've never forgotten the movie or her performance. I still remember her anguished cries when her ex was awarded custody of their daughter because she had married a black man. On a happier note, there's a dancer in the film version of Oklahoma who (I think) looks just like BB and I used to think it was her. I think it might be Bambi Lynn?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 26, 2024 5:26 PM |
Is she off the colostomy bag?
