I thought he was phenomenal in the third season of Twin Peaks and looked fantastic with gray hair.

He was quite good as Bobby. In the movie, “Fire Walk With Me”, he does this backward glide into the high school which was pretty funny.

Someone who has been working as an actor since the 80s qualifies as Vintage at this point. People don’t realize how long ago the 80s were at this point.

R18 I agree. I mean, 80s clothing and merch is vintage and 80 music and movies are considered very old now, so I can’t see the issue with 80s and early 90s actors being “vintage” at this point.

I watched Return of the Living Dead so many times as a kid, but never put it together that Tom was Bobby Briggs. Time for a rewatch I guess.

That 90s butt cut is so hilarious to me now, but I lusted after the guys in high school who had it because it wasn't a mullet or heavy metal feathers.

Yeah, 1984 was 40 years ago,

For perspective, think of the major differences/changes between 1884 and 1924.

To people in 1984, "40 yeas ago" was 1944 (i.e. WW2).

When I was a kid in the '90s, I remember anything '50s was considered vintage.

I saw the original Twin Peaks and Bonnie & Clyde, but that's it. I remember him being wide-eyed, and he didn't blink often enough. There's a brief shot of him lurking behind Jonathan Silverman at a party in Soleil Moon Frye's documentary Kid 90.

Like Kathie Lee Gifford said, his intense looks were perfect for a show like Twin Peaks. He had intense eyes, hardly blinking.

As far as you can remember, R59. But as the saying goes, every good-looking actor is "considered gay" on DataLounge, and I remember his name coming up a number of times (in fact that's the only connection I remember his name coming up on DL).

His scene in the third season of Twin Peaks bursting into tears at seeing Laura Palmer's photograph was amazing. It totally rewrote the character for me and doubled down on Laura's death as being a thing that traumatized an entire community.

Yeah, he probably hadn’t thought about her in a long time and then seeing that photo brought him back 25 years. Made me sad, too!

He was terrific in 2017's Twin Peaks: The Return. Granted, the writing for his character was also great. It was really rewarding to see his 25 year character arc play out
