The French film preview at R6 looks much more compelling than the Hollywood-ized version with Chastain and Hathaway that I just watched. Having said that, I enjoyed the film and it did keep me guessing with an ending I didn't anticipate.

A big wasted opportunity with a great premise, a Lifetime-level script, and some absolutely forgettable actors (the child who plays Theo is egregiously bad, and the husbands are interchangeable to the point you can't remember who is married to whom). Jessica Chastain is fine but adds nothing. HOWEVER ...
Our dear AnnE Hathaway understood the assignment as a crazy suburban bitch who dresses like Jackie Kennedy and does her best to camp up the movie in the tradition of horror hags. We see her in white gloves going shopping; black gloves committing evil deeds; and blood-red dishwashing gloves after killing someone. She was the only thing that kept me watching with her Crawford eyebrows and Joker red lipstick.

Agreed, but AnnE gets it. Her performance harkens back to "Who Slew Auntie Roo?", "What's the Matter With Helen?" and all those movies with middle-aged actresses chewing the scenery as they go nuts.
She would be the PERFECT star for a remake of "Lady in a Cage."
