Lauryn Hill reveals her sophomore album is almost finished!

I always assumed she would never drop a second album and be one of those rare artists who has one masterful album and massive success then leaves it at that.

She's only about 25 years too late.

by Anonymousreply 1May 18, 2024 4:46 AM

Who?

by Anonymousreply 2May 18, 2024 5:01 AM

Horrible styling. And like r1 said, we've all moved on.

by Anonymousreply 3May 18, 2024 5:23 AM

Ripples of excitement in the entertainment industry? That ship has long sailed.

by Anonymousreply 4May 18, 2024 5:27 AM

Her debut album is iconic so I'm sure there is a good amount of demand for it even after so much time has passed.

by Anonymousreply 5May 18, 2024 5:56 AM

Her talent has been diluted by her bullshit antics. She's got a lot to prove, and I have no confidence in her ability to deliver.

by Anonymousreply 6May 18, 2024 6:41 AM

By the time it happens, Teslas will be self levitating.

by Anonymousreply 7May 18, 2024 8:02 AM

Gotta pay the taxman!

by Anonymousreply 8May 18, 2024 8:21 AM

At this point, her second album is guaranteed to be a let down. Terrible idea.

by Anonymousreply 9May 18, 2024 12:32 PM

Take your time, honey.

by Anonymousreply 10May 18, 2024 12:44 PM

Is she still anti white listeners?

by Anonymousreply 11May 18, 2024 3:56 PM

R11 she never was. Now kill yourself.

by Anonymousreply 12May 18, 2024 3:59 PM

Krazy.

So it's a soul trainwreck coming off the tracks and into the stations.

As long as it takes to stop.

by Anonymousreply 13May 18, 2024 4:02 PM

Racist Cunt. Fuck her. Her first album and Fugees stint are highly overrated. Seems nuts too. Probably smoked too much weed.

by Anonymousreply 14May 18, 2024 4:17 PM

5150!!!

She says at R17 from the stage re: being late:

[quote] “I do it because I stand here in the name of God. God is the one who allows me to do it, who surrounded me with family and community when there was no support, when the album [1998’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill] sold so many records and no one showed up and said, ‘Hey, would you like to make another one?’”

I simply don’t believe that last part. Money has no ethics or morals and I don’t believe for a minute that there weren’t multiple major labels begging her for a second album. Why that second album is only now, supposedly, materializing but it wasn’t because no one offered her the opportunity.

by Anonymousreply 18May 18, 2024 5:35 PM

Bl-egos are big and getting bigger by the minute.

[quote] Lauryn Hill, the renowned artist behind the groundbreaking 1998 album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,”

The entire album was ghostwritten.

by Anonymousreply 21May 18, 2024 6:49 PM

I hear a cuckoo clock whenever I see a photo of her.

by Anonymousreply 22May 18, 2024 6:50 PM

She abused her daughter.

by Anonymousreply 23May 18, 2024 6:51 PM

[quote] However, in a recent encounter with TMZ, Hill dropped a bombshell that sent ripples of excitement throughout the industry.

Who writes this crap?

by Anonymousreply 24May 18, 2024 6:51 PM

ripples of excitement = eye rolls and “yeah, right”s

by Anonymousreply 25May 18, 2024 6:54 PM

Overrated then, overrated now.

by Anonymousreply 26May 18, 2024 7:00 PM

I disagree, at least not for people who were coming of age when it came out. I think it’s one of the best albums of that era, and I don’t think I’m alone in that.

by Anonymousreply 27May 18, 2024 7:03 PM

I’m late all the time!

I have never understood what is supposed to be so fascinating about this woman. The Miseducation is one of the most boring albums I've ever heard, and to be honest I don't care for the fact that she was among the first to bastardize soul music by introducing hip hop elements into it. She might not have been vulgar, abrasive and obnoxious like Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, but she has contributed to the overall impoverishment of popular music and that isn't a desirable legacy at all.

In addition, I strongly dislike the fact that most of the time, she sounds like she is singing through a yawn. Seriously, would it hurt her to add a little bit of enthusiasm to some of her songs? Talk about a dull, insanely boring performer. Sorry, but I don't expect anything great coming from Miss Hill. R26 is right: she has always been massively overrated.
