The way I went to the gym and noticed this theory is 100% accurate.
Gen Z Has Officially Canceled Ankle Socks: "They're For Old People"
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 15, 2024 7:41 PM |
Well, I don't know how official any of these "official" actions are.

What about the ones with 3 colored stripes that cover your calf?
Asking for a friend.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 14, 2024 5:22 PM |
Good, I've always loathed them. Please ask them cancel skinny jeans, too. TIA
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 14, 2024 5:23 PM |
I hate socks but wear the smallest foot ones when I have to. They barely show in shoes.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 14, 2024 5:26 PM |
“We really need to talk about Buzzfeed”
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 14, 2024 5:29 PM |
Ok - so I clicked - they prefer crew socks to the no-show kind. As an elder I never embraced the no-show and have been wearing Gold Toe heather grey crew socks for decades.
So happy my feet are The Bomb, as the kids say.

Crew socks. Dad jeans. New Balance 530 in beige.
Gen Z style is 1990s suburban pedophile uncle.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 14, 2024 5:30 PM |
I’m gonna wear them and they can suck my Millenial cock.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 14, 2024 5:33 PM |
Yeah, well, has anyone asked the Alphas what *they* think of the socks? Why are the Zoomers getting all this attention?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 14, 2024 5:39 PM |
I saw a man at the airport in the security line with his shoes off and wearing those dainty no-show socks. It was embarrassing to behold.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 14, 2024 5:45 PM |
You will only be able to take these tubes socks away from my cold dead legs.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 14, 2024 5:49 PM |
Ankle socks are uncomfortable. That said, I'm going to commit suicide now that agree with Gen Z brats about anything.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 14, 2024 5:52 PM |
...give a shit what the fuck kind of socks Gen Z (or any Generation, for that matter) thinks are "appropriate" or "cool" or whatever. I don't care what ANYONE thinks about whatever kind of socks I do or don't wear.
For the record, I wear sandals most of the time (without socks), and when I do wear socks, it's either because I'm going hiking or my feet are cold.
Don't we have more important things to focus on besides the length of socks? FFS.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 14, 2024 5:54 PM |
Please. My partner’s nephews all wear Birks with white or black socks, as do all their friends. They look like my dad going on vacation in 1978.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 14, 2024 6:03 PM |
I've given up on ankle socks because they don't stay on well and slip around. Good call Gen Z. I also hate skinny jeans so thanks for that too. I hate mom / pop jeans so they're wrong about those high waisters. Regular jeans for the win.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 14, 2024 6:04 PM |
You have to get the ankle socks with the little pom pon attached on the back so the socks don’t slip down.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 14, 2024 6:12 PM |
Points for Pom pon, r17
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 14, 2024 6:14 PM |
I wear ankle socks when exercising.
Who are you people who can’t buy a pair that doesn’t slip down?
That’s never happened to me, ever.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 14, 2024 6:18 PM |
I hate all socks and only wear them when I have to. At home I am barefoot. I've never had a foot fungus.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 14, 2024 6:44 PM |
They should stick to getting their own shit together.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 14, 2024 6:48 PM |
My ankles are my best feature!

The wonderful thing about getting older is I don’t give a shit what anyone under the age of forty thinks.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 14, 2024 7:11 PM |
Amen to that r24. I'll include anyone over 40.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 14, 2024 7:14 PM |
When are knee high compression support stocks going to be in style? I want to freely wear them with shorts.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 14, 2024 7:20 PM |
Totally not true! Several Gen Z boys at the gym wear these kind of ankle socks.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 14, 2024 8:09 PM |
R6 As the kids said 20 years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 14, 2024 8:15 PM |
Crew socks in colder weather, ankle or no show socks when wearing shorts. I've been doing this for 30+ years and not about to change.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 14, 2024 8:17 PM |
I’ve never worn ankle sucks, yikes!
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 14, 2024 8:25 PM |
In other news ...
and if you wait long enough everything comes back into fashion.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 15, 2024 6:44 PM |
Gen Z, most of whom - on a good day - aspire to look like they belong in the display window at Old Navy. And someone thinks they’re qualified to dispense fashion advice?
