Unfortunately, the affordable ones that are fully liberal are ghettos where you risk being shot in a drive-by daily.

I'm in Los Angeles now. Lived here most of my life. The neighborhood I'm in has become congested and expensive. Looking to live a more peaceful life among friendly people who are intelligent.

With the suggestions tell me more about what makes living there nice.

How is Rochester, NY or St. Paul, MN?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 14, 2024 4:45 PM |
What is “affordable”? Santa Fe, Asheville, Williamsburg, Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, TX are all nice and not LA or NY prices

Miami. Blue skies, sunshine, white sand by the mile.

Isn't that the town where white supremacists marched?

I'm not moving from my small college town in northern California but if I ever need to downsize, and my house is not posh, I would consider Las Vegas. Houses are still fairly affordable and property taxes low--that's a big one, it's RENT people! Vegas is closer to Palm Desert where I have family, non caftan wearers but still dear to me. However, Palm Desert is now too expensive. I know people who live in LV, one is a writer and the other works in a casino and they love it. It has an international airport (I live two hours away from the closest one) and I think it would be a fun novelty to end my life in a nutty place since I might be nuts myself.

The affordable ones that are fully CONSERVATIVE are ghettos where you risk being shot in a drive-by daily, R2.

I find that list in R17 very unhelpful. The majority of the cities listed are in states that most people don't want to live in. And in these precarious political times, would be nuts to move to.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 14, 2024 5:13 PM |
Dear lord the list at R17 is grim.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 14, 2024 5:21 PM |
I take Youngstown, Ohio is not on the list?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 14, 2024 5:24 PM |
Anyone here know much about Spokane?
