Technically good performers or artists whose work you nonetheless dislike

David Tennant: skilled, often very good in dramas, but I cannot watch him in anything with a modicum or humour or camp because of the extremely high chance he will gurn or pop his eyes.

by Anonymousreply 26May 27, 2024 7:12 PM

Yeah, gurning is the worst.

Minnie Driver

Meryl Streep owns this thread.

Ed Sheeren: a pleasant, humorous dude. Has a nice tone of voice and ear for melody.

His music to me is virtually unlistenable.

by Anonymousreply 4May 26, 2024 5:51 PM

I know exactly what you mean, OP. His lower jaw is out of control.

by Anonymousreply 5May 26, 2024 5:54 PM

Bonnie Raitt.

by Anonymousreply 6May 26, 2024 6:01 PM

Harry Styles. I can't listen to his voice, maybe it's autotuned - or not - but it's so bland and generic.

by Anonymousreply 7May 26, 2024 6:33 PM

Bruce Willis. Something about his smug smirk always puts me off. Even in otherwise quality movies/tv, I can barely tolerate him and tend to avoid his stuff.

What is technically good about Banksy?

by Anonymousreply 10May 26, 2024 8:19 PM

Can't watch J lo. Adam Driver, I love Minnie driver in Will and Grace. Christopher walked better keep waklin...But love Kevin Hart.

by Anonymousreply 11May 27, 2024 12:48 AM

Annie Lennox. Nicolas Cage. John Malkovich.

by Anonymousreply 12May 27, 2024 12:51 AM

Celine Dion

by Anonymousreply 13May 27, 2024 12:56 AM

Lady Gaga.

by Anonymousreply 14May 27, 2024 2:32 AM

Gloria Grahame. She was a good actress but her voice is so annoying to me

Katie Holmes' baby voice bugs the shit out of me

by Anonymousreply 15May 27, 2024 2:45 AM

Joan Crawford.

by Anonymousreply 16May 27, 2024 2:47 AM

If TV creators are considered "artists" then Chuck Lorre.

Will Ferrell

Kate McKinnon

Kristen Wiig

by Anonymousreply 17May 27, 2024 4:04 AM

Nothing technically good about Joan Crawford

by Anonymousreply 18May 27, 2024 4:12 AM

No one could convey toothache quite like Joan could.

Unfortunately, none of her characters actually had toothache.

by Anonymousreply 19May 27, 2024 4:14 AM

Mandy Patinkin has beautiful vocal control in her falsetto range, but I could never stand it given his propensities for hamminess and self-indulgence.

by Anonymousreply 20May 27, 2024 4:16 AM

Ariana Grande and Carrie Underwood

Their voices sound shrill to me

by Anonymousreply 21May 27, 2024 7:17 AM

Crawford understood screen acting technique. There's a scene in The Damned Don't Cry where she's in bed, alone, overhearing a conversation in the next room. You can see what she's thinking, and then see her thought change, even though she hardly moves a muscle. Very impressive. But I dislike her.

by Anonymousreply 22May 27, 2024 2:09 PM

Duran Duran

Joni Mitchell

by Anonymousreply 23May 27, 2024 2:11 PM

Zamfir, Master of the Pan Flute.
