I don’t get the Vitameatavegamin connection

Sort of funny. More interesting is the references… that old Dunaway clip flying around TikTok and then suddenly it’s on SNL a week later.

Would be a perfect skit without the farting stuff.

I don’t understand how this got made. The number of people who would get the references is probably less than 200, and they all post here.

I loved it. Maya is great.

I agree the farting cheapened the humor for me.

But Maya killed it.

It isn't very funny. The humor seems very dated. The skit shows how far SNL has declined over the years. 25 years ago, this skit would never have made the cut to even appear on the air.

All of the farting reminded me of the train wreck of an episode when January Jones hosted.

It was as if they didn't know a smart and funny way to end it so they made it into a fart joke.

Also—One of the photos of Maya after a break had her as Faye doing the “No Wire Hangers” scene.

Yes, r19–they totally ruined it.

This would have been funny without the farting.

I thought at first she shat her pants similar to Kristen Wiig as Jamie Lee Curtis shooting the Activia commercials. If the cast wants to do juvenile, gross-out humor, they should go for it, like Dan Ackroyd’s Julia Child bleeding out all over the place. Why not have Maya spurting diarrhea everywhere instead of just her pretending to fart? Now that would be funny.

I had seen the Faye bit about eyeline on social so I knew right away what they were doing. I agree the fart bit was unnecessary.

That said, Maya is brilliant.

My four favorite SNL women are Gilda, Jan Hooks, Maya, and Cecily Strong.

OP - I instantly thought of Datalounge, too! And these very 'inside baseball' references tickled me. I'm 12, so I'm never going to not find fart humor funny -- especially when done so well by a true artist like Maya. But, the farts were there so the straights could still laugh even though they wouldn't get the references.

I wish IMDB listed the writer credits for each sketch. I have to assume Bowen co-wrote this one. But, this is why it's so great to have gay writers and performers on SNL.
