I just finished watching Roma Downey play Jackie in the 1991 miniseries “A Woman Named Jackie.” Roma wasn’t bad - she attempted the accent, but was too conventionally pretty for odd looking Jacqueline. It had me wondering, who was the best Jackie?
Who was the best Jackie?

One who wasn’t seen universally, but I think Margaret Colin did really well in the Broadway show “Jackie.”

Well naturally I’m going to vote for Jaclyn Smith

Whoever played her in the dream sequence in "Rosemary's Baby."
"I heard you were bitten by a mouse..."

I'm afraid the correct answer to that question is Divine in 'Eat Your Makeup.'

Jackie Harris

Molly Dodd. Despite her blue eyes. She didn't do a impersonation she did an impression. This was a TV min series made when Jackie was still alive. Bet she watched it. Her housekeeper said she read all her "press" as she called the tabloids. Brown tells how she almost ran into JBKO at Bergdorf's but hid behind a coat rack.

Not Jaclyn Smith.

I enjoyed Jeanne Tripplehorn’s more low key portrayal.

OP, you forgot ex-Mrs. Val Kilmer -- Joanne Whalley in JACKIE BOUVIER KENNEDY ONASSIS (2000) opposite Tim Matheson's JFK.

Laurie Metcalf

Blair Brown definitely. I’ve seen Grey Gardens, but Jeanne really didn’t leave an impression on me. I’m surprised she’s first right now.

Jeanne Tripplehorn for sure. Natalie Portman gave one of her better performances in Jackie but I didn’t feel she was portraying that woman in any way.

Were there any drag queens that did Jackie O?

Another vote for Blair Brown.

I thought Katie Holmes acquitted herself rather well in the Kennedy’s miniseries. And she looked the most like the real Jackie.

Natalie Portman.

Natalie Portman got Jackie's voice down. Physically, Natalie is prettier.

R22 Katie Holmes was a much better match physically, but Natalie inhabited the role more.

Not to mention Dexter as JFK. What were Netflix thinking?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 13, 2024 12:15 AM |
Katie Holmes' head was too small. Jackie had a massive, manly cranium.

Jacqueline Bisset even with the Brit accent she captured Jackie's posh cuntyness perfectly.
