One of my mom’s friends is related to Day’s wife (Mary Elizabeth Ellis/The Waitress) by marriage, and told my mom that Day and Ellis are both very nice and normal in real life, and fun to visit with a family gatherings.

I haven’t really heard Rob interviewed, it doesn’t surprise me he’s a bro type. I still love him for his unabashed support of the gay community. That coming out episode should have won an Emmy, imo.

R17, R18, R19 - Yes! Definitely was some botox. If you watch their recent podcast videos you'll notice the tightness on Rob and Glenn's faces have worn off, so looking more natural now. So, assuming temp fillers/botox previously. Kaitlin still looks like she is using whatever it is on her face, but not as bad as before.

I kinda find Rob kind of super annoying IRL.

Which episode (and season) was the coming out episode? I never watched the show reliably... just caught episodes here and there (but have seen several dozen total). I'd like to dig out the coming out episode on streaming and watch it.

I've always thought Dennis, Dee and Frank were the pillars holding up the show. They are consistently the funniest characters and the best actors (especially Glenn).

R33 Yes, agreed on all points, except you left out Charlie in the second half of your post. He was just as much a pillar in it and one of the three founding fathers of the creation of the show. Glenn however, is the mastermind glue/cement of the pillars. Honestly, the show could go on without Rob just fine.

I like everybody on the show but I think Kaitlin Olson is one of the funniest people on earth right now. She is such a great comedian. Just naturally hilarious.

Day is so good, at times it feels like he’s on a different show.

Glenn inhabits every dark, fucked up corner of his character’s psyche with such gusto, it is, at times, breathtaking. When he and Mac move to the suburbs, his descent into full narcissistic psychosis and rage is … art.

He ends up fully naked on the front yard and it’s perfection. Fully committed to the scene, the moment, the character. It’s a top five episode for me.

R45, she was super sweet and super smart, a bit more terry gross than the mom on the show. Both of his parents are music educators, the father wrote a famous book on why Catholics in the US are so bad at music in their churches - something utilized when the Mac character is ever in church
