Who wants to fuck Joe Scarborough?
Who thinks Alex Wagner & Joy Reid should be fired?

Who will win The Weekend cat fight- Symone or Alicia?

I can't take Lawrence O'DONNELL anymore. The way he torments all the 9 pm hosts for a full 10 minutes into his show. Alex visibly hates it and tries to wrap it up, but he can't catch a fuckibg hint. It's embarrassing and cringe.

The Moderate Democrats do not want to be swirled together with the Pro-Israeli genocide.
It is a bunch of confused protests, and the easiest thing to do IS SUPPORT THE PRESIDENT.

The only can’t miss MSNBC show is my nightly fix of all the legal issues arising from Trump’s multiple cases and nobody presents what I want to be fill-in on better than O’Donnell and his guests.
But I have to fight sleep because of its time slot.

Hicks was the official whore of the Trump Administration.
She was a protected Lewinsky.
And only Lawrence is peeling off her reality from the edges.

by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 4, 2024 2:25 PM

Earlier this week, Lawrence used those hand off minutes to school Alex Wagner. She had on NYT Michelle Goldberg and they were comparing the police response to the Columbia protests to the campus violence in the sixties, as if both circumstances were commensurate. Lawrence fully explained why the two were not alike and the difference in the police response, he gave perspective. Alex Wagner signed off with a chastened face.
I like him. He is not afraid to take a position counter to his msnbc colleagues and his panel guests almost always are knowledgeable and expert.

And for the love of Baby Jesus, will Rashida switch Velshi's two hours with The Weekend's two hours?
I get up at 5am to watch the weekend, go back to bed for two hours to get up and watch Katie Phang or Jen Psaki on the weekends.
Velshi is insufferable.
Getting up at 7am on the West Coast is till an abomination, but it's better than the 2hr Velshi nap.

Yes, Lisa Rubin really dominated the discussion last night on O'Donnell. She needs to reign herself in on explanations - particularly with having Adam, Andrew and Lawrence at the table. If I were a show producer I might hesitate to have her on.
Adam is so busy looking at his binder it takes him awhile to get his point across.

Lisa Rubin tries to dominate every segment, particularly those "outside the courthouse updates" shared with the grey-haired woman whose name escapes me. The male attorneys see through Rubin's act, while the women are slower on the uptake.

I'm sick of Jen Psaki. Talk about special treatment. MSNBC treated her like she was superior to every other host from day one and I'd hate her if I were one of the longtime hosts. But she's like an amateur compared to the special treatment Rachel gets.
I'm sick of Andrew Weissman too. He's on EVERY fucking show and his voice drives me up the wall plus it seems to me he often just says what he knows most people want to hear. I'd much rather watch Lisa Rubin. Adam is cute but they don't really need him.

It depends on the plugger and the plugged.
Joy's book is kinda singular and her plugging it is a one note that even Rachel and The Apollo couldn't breathe life into.
Every book written by Rachel and Andrew and Melissa are destined for Poli Sci classes for decades. They are foundational.
Jen Psaki held a unique position and her book is revelatory while being a Biden warrior. Her access to the Biden WH is incalculable for MSNBC.
The Velshi book seems uninteresting.

They keep seating poor Adam Klasfeld practically in Lisa's lap so whenever she on camera talking, he's in the shot, too, having to nod and nod and nod, when he's probably desperately trying to think of what to say that she hasn't already said.

Cevallos is Chuck Rosenberg lite. He has taken over "the prosecution has not made its case" Debbie Downer legal commentator.
It appears that Danny wants a video of Trump signing a contract with Pecker and Cohen, declaring he is paying off women before the election to defraud the election laws and will not pay them after as it would save cash and be unnecessary. And that Cohen is a sworn liar. Like Cevallos would have problems with the corroborated testimony of Sammy "The Bull" Gravano against John Gotti.

I hope MSNBC stays leftist/progressive. With Fox News, we desperately need a counterbalance. And it should be in its DNA. MSNBC’s corporate parent, Comcast, staged a rare intervention over the left-leaning network’s rampant criticism of Israel during its coverage of the deadly Oct. 7 terrorist attacks by Hamas, 𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑵𝒆𝒘 𝒀𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒔.
MSNBC anchors Ayman Mohyeldin, Mehdi Hasan and Ali Velshi, who are all Muslim, interviewed guests who suggested the shocking Hamas cross-border invasion — which slaughtered around 1,200 Israelis, including women and children — was the result of “failed policies” by the US and Israel.
The tenor of MSNBC’s coverage that Saturday morning prompted Comcast president Michael Cavanagh to convey his concerns to Cesar Conde, chairman of NBCUniversal News Group, the division that includes MSNBC, NBC News and CNBC, according to the New York Times.
The NBCUniversal News boss then issued a directive to his subordinates at MSNBC to focus on the facts and give less weight to opinions and commentary, the Times reported.

I was watching MSNBC on the morning of October 7. I found the coverage off-putting and unbalanced, especially putting Diana Buttu front and center to basically excuse away Hamas before the bodies even stopped bleeding. A while later. Ali Velshi travelled to Israel and was surprised by the damage inflicted by Hamas’ everyday bombing. Maybe it was my imagination, but his tone seemed to change.
But these perspectives are valuable. I support Israel, just as I support America, but that doesn’t mean either should be free from criticism, The NYT is rolling out a three part story on how Israeli settlers in the West Bank (and previously in Gaza) persecuted Palestinians with the tacit or explicit support of the government and the military. Told by Israelis, not just Palestinians and Arabs. Is this anti-Semitic just because it’s unflattering?
Chris Hayes did an extremely balanced interview with an Israeli dissident on his podcast. Calling him an anti-Semite is way out of line. But that seems to be what people do now (see; “genocide!” and “racist” and “colonialist”) to feel righteous.

Chris Hayes went on a tirade about civilian deaths in Gaza and concluded that it was entirely up to Netanyahu to stop the war as if Hamas had no responsibility for the war and the hostages were immaterial. I haven’t watched his show since.

Well, that’s the point. He explicitly holds Hamas accountable for the friendly fire deaths of three hostages in December. He then asks why Israelis would shoot people waving a white flag and surrendering. Which leads him to argue that Israel needs to stop the war to protect the hostages and the Gazan civilians.
Personally, I disagree (stopping the war would just set up future conflicts that take more lives). But it’s not an anti-Semitism to say that the civilian casualties are tragic.
by Anonymous | reply 397 | May 17, 2024 3:02 PM

Sam Harris just published a piece about why American youth are siding with Hamas. In it, he points out that the ruling family of Qatar are flowers of the Muslim Brotherhood and have donated billions of dollars to elite western universities to fund Middle Eastern Studies departments and that through this route progressive ideology on campuses has incorporated a pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel bent which, of course, is passed on by the faculty to the students.
This is one reason why “progressives” are anti-Israel. Their allegiance has been purchased with oil wealth.

Lawrence is the reason that lawmakers, and I use that term loosely, have started showing up at Trump's Trial. For days Lawrence mocked Trump for having no friends, no one even relatives showing up at his trial. Lawrence went at it heavily the day Lawrence claimed that Trump noticed him in the audience and had an angry look on his face that Lawrence was there. Lawrence claims Trump watches his show all the time but I am sure Trump watched the day that he saw Lawrence in the audience to see what Lawrence would say.

It's funny about the endless "He/They're being ANTI-SEMITIC!" "They're being ANTI-PALESTINIAN!"" screaming fits.
I'm not emotionally tied to either faction, so here's what I've seen: On 10/7 and throughout the first two or three months, MSM coverage was OVERWHELMINGLY pro-Israel/Israelis, with hosts and guests repeatedly talking up the rapes and sadistic treatment of the hostages, and how we should be OUTRAGED on their and their families' behalf; to do otherwise is to be inhuman, evil, and anti-Semitic. And to me it seemed like the foreign correspondents worked from that same script. And Israeli dissidents were given short shrift.
Since January, it seems MSM coverage has become overwhelmingly pro-Palestinian with hosts and guests repeatedly talking up the thousands and thousands of Palestininian/Gazan bombing deaths, sadistic treatment of the refugees, and how we should be OUTRAGED on their and their families' behalf; to do otherwise is to be inhuman, evil, and anti-Palestinian/Islamophobic. And to me it seems like the foreign correspondents are working from that same script. And explicitly anti-Hamas voices are given short shrift.
Everyone seems to be talking past one another, preferring to give thought and voice to !!!!OUTRAGE!!!!

I understand that, but she provided the ammunition. It may not be fair, but we've all learned that "Democrats" need to be squeaky clean, because "Republicans" - and the media - will find a way to crucify you if you aren't.
That's not news; it's the way of the world and we should have already learned that lesson.
"Democrats", on the other hand, are stuck in a rut of taking the high road, thinking still, that we're going to change the world for the better. A lofty goal for us, but in this firestorm of politics - right now - that's like trying to put out the raging inferno with a glass of water.
It shouldn't be that way, but we ignore those facts at our peril.

Maddow mentioned former GA Gov. Roy Barnes was approached by Willis to work on the case in the role Nathan Wade (Fani's former BF) held. He turned her down saying he "didn't want to live with bodyguards for the rest of his life" This suggests to me that staffing this prosecution team was difficult and possible that many qualified lawyers possibly turned the job down out of fear for their physical safety.

I understand Joy's righteous indignation over the Supreme Court's racial gerrymandering decision, but I need a calmer news reader. I'm ill and her rage level isn't good for my health. PBS News Hour is a good substitute. It's bland but it covers more news.

The “B Crew” this morning is spinning the shit out of Trump’s Bronx rally, with one lie on top of another.

Hell, no!

R553 - They said the same thing about the underwhelming Bronx crowd size on Morning Joe this AM.
Lemire said Trump was cleared for several thousand people, and given there were no issues from the police re it being really overcrowded, it's probably what he got.
He also said even if it were as many as 7,000 attendees, that's a really tiny percentage of the 1.4 million people who live in the Bronx.

Joe Biden couldn’t get 7,000 people to attend his funeral.

Is the number of people who show up at a rally the new yard signs?
I am a reliable Democratic Voter and I wouldn't go to any rally regardless of who is holding it. I can think of few things more boring than listening to any politician speak. I shut them all off including Biden, I would listen to Obama for a few minutes but even he bored me, but I voted for him and Biden every time.

Eddie Glaude & Charles Coleman both have awful rhetoric against the Dems, Biden.
Big Picture you can’t get everything you want. Biden has done a great job & they are complaining they didn’t get 100%.
Good luck with that 🍀

^^^^^^^^^ They gave Biden a 50/50 split in the Senate with Sinema and Machin as part of their 50 Senators for the first two years when the Republicans can block unless there is 60 Senator for any legislation.
Then Democrats didn't vote enough in 2022 to keep the House. Then SOME Democrats complain Biden hasn't done enough. The Voter haven't done enough, you want Democratic policies give Democrats a super majority.

I voted for Hillary, I thought she would be a good President and it is damn time we had a woman President. However she needs to let it go, I voted for Gore but didn't much care for him and didn't like his VP selection but I have to admire him, he got screwed in the election but he got over it or at least doesn't keep talking about it. This whining about the past isn't going to win us, the Democrats any votes. At this point Hillary would be best to be a grandmother.
