Dane Cook was an interesting case. He wasn't funny in the least, and was a million miles from clever, but I think the answer to his success was in his pattern of speech and dumbshit attitude. He told stories in the stupid way of the drunk guy at the bar who you knew through your English Lit 101 seminar.

Delivery, voice, pattern of speaking somehow were enough to make him accessible for a college comedy crowd. You could see it in how he had obviously honed his slack-jawed observational humor, while giving very little thought to the comedy part

Jim Carrey. I do not find him funny in the slightest.

Robert Klein. Some of his standup was pretty good, but that led to him being declared a brilliant improv comedian and no, actually, HE WAS AWFUL. It’s actually embarrassing to witness.

Gilda Radner was a million times funnier than anyone on SNL in the past 20+ years.

I find Tim and Eric unfunny and disturbing.
