Is she drunk?
Barbara Streisand blasted for Melissa McCarthy comment
by Anonymous | reply 96 | May 2, 2024 1:50 AM |
Barbra
by Anonymous | reply 1 | April 30, 2024 7:07 AM |
Is that considered rude? I really don't know, or care đ€·ââïž
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 30, 2024 7:11 AM |
Pastels, Debbie?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 30, 2024 7:15 AM |
Perhaps she thought it was a direct message she was posting and mistakenly posted it publicly?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 30, 2024 7:16 AM |
I honestly wondered the same thing, only Wegovy, not Ozempic.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 30, 2024 7:19 AM |
After reading her book I'm convinced our Babs is on the spectrum.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 30, 2024 7:20 AM |
So, it seems that Barbra and Melissa did a duet together at one point, so they do in fact know each other. I doubt this is shade or intentional rudeness. (And to answer the clueless dude upthread, yes, it would normally be considered rude to ask this publicly in front of millions.) She probably meant to sent this privately (or was so out of it she wasn't thinking about it being on instagram). Of course, people who have nothing better to do than to become outraged for someone else on twitter (sorry, X) and the entertainment "journalists" have picked up on it and it's become a thing. And now we're talking about it on DL. Oy.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 30, 2024 7:24 AM |
^ I'm not clueless, I was asking a question honestly like, "Are you always an asshole?"
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 30, 2024 7:41 AM |
Well, did she?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 30, 2024 7:48 AM |
R6 - me too
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 30, 2024 8:04 AM |
Barbra has Carole Bayer Sager's back in the ancient Carole vs. Melissa feud. And Carole never needed Ozempic.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 30, 2024 8:13 AM |
Old people get overly honest. hahahaaa
She did take Ozempic btw
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 30, 2024 8:17 AM |
Babs was putting her in her place.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 30, 2024 8:21 AM |
Babs will be eating up a pancake storm with Trump back in the White House.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 30, 2024 8:22 AM |
Speaking of eating, Barbra, I have a question for you. Is it true that they used to call you birthday cake in the 1970s and 80s because you made sure everyone had a piece?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 30, 2024 8:22 AM |
Old people say the darndest things!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | April 30, 2024 8:24 AM |
R3, didn't she say she didn't get the humor in What's UP Doc? the director had to explain to her why certain scenes were funny?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 30, 2024 8:24 AM |
What a cunt. Someone needs to call Streisand out on all her bad plastic surgery.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 30, 2024 8:24 AM |
Babs has got the fat gals all riled up this morning đ
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 30, 2024 8:30 AM |
r17 Bogdanovich had good things to say about Barbra
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 30, 2024 8:34 AM |
Kelly Clarkson is avoiding saying she is on Ozempic too. If they are that ashamed of it maybe they shouldn't be taking it. A famous person who has been fat for years is going to raise suspicion when now they lose the weight.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 30, 2024 8:37 AM |
No one has a good thing to say about Babs. Peter must have wanted something from her. Sheâs a complete nightmare and uneducated to boot.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | April 30, 2024 8:40 AM |
Melissa, you look like I Canât Believe Itâs Not Buttah!
by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 30, 2024 8:42 AM |
R21, who is saying Melissa is ashamed of anything?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 30, 2024 8:49 AM |
It wouldn't be so bad except a few years ago Barbra Tweeted Melissa, "For a fat girl you don't sweat much"... Guess Melissa was still stinging a bit
by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 30, 2024 9:00 AM |
I know a lot about her, cause you see: Barbra is an awful lot like me. Addicted to ice cream, and popping Ozempic.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 30, 2024 9:08 AM |
If Ozempic came in pill form and I could afford it I would be tempted. But since Murphy's Law is my life I am afraid I would be one of the few that gets permanent damage from it.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 30, 2024 9:18 AM |
fun fact: Melissa dueted with Babs on "Anything You Can Do" (from Annie Get Your Gun). Arriving at the recording session Melissa was not happy with the rewritten lyrics that made humorous references to her zaftigness. Babs had them rewritten for her on the spot.
Years earlier the song had been prepared for Barbras "The Broadway Album".The intended duet partners were Madonna and Bette Midler who showed interest to do it. That version was supposed to end with Bette and Madge kvetching in the ladysroom about Barbra being a divabitch unaware that Babs was inside on of the stalls.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 30, 2024 9:43 AM |
Yes R17
She also claims not to understand the popularity of Stony End.
BUT - she WILL be glad to tell you what dress she wore to go grocery shopping 50 years ago
by Anonymous | reply 29 | April 30, 2024 9:47 AM |
I really think she thought this was a private message. She is 82 after all.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 30, 2024 12:16 PM |
You just know Renata was fired!
by Anonymous | reply 31 | April 30, 2024 1:12 PM |
Actually, Craig Hall runs all of her social media and forums. R31
by Anonymous | reply 32 | April 30, 2024 1:20 PM |
R6 you know I had the same thought watching her Lifetime Achievement speech. Aspergers is thought to express itself differently in women with some of the qualities associated with it like coldness not being present. I still remember the fuss she made on the Mike Wallace interview over how she was lit.
Plus it would explain the relationship with Jon Peters who is certainly neurodivergent (exceptionally talented hairdresser but functionally illiterate.)
by Anonymous | reply 33 | April 30, 2024 1:34 PM |
âI might be fat, but youâre irrelevant.â
by Anonymous | reply 34 | April 30, 2024 4:49 PM |
"I may be irrelevant, but I have my own mall... Top that, tubby"
by Anonymous | reply 35 | April 30, 2024 4:53 PM |
âMalls arenât a thing anymore, they were when you were relevant!â
by Anonymous | reply 36 | April 30, 2024 4:54 PM |
Is Glenn Close trying to start a feud with Barbra by posting "GORGEOUS!!!" under Melissa's pic?
Glenn is still smarting from Barbra being offered the Sunset Boulevard movie over her. Glenn, honey, you'll never be considered the "nice" one.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | April 30, 2024 4:58 PM |
I guess you know her personally, huh, R22?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | April 30, 2024 4:58 PM |
At the end of every day I drive through the city of Santa Monica and I cross the bridge that will take me home. I feel the words building inside me, I can't stop them, or tell you why I say them, but as I reach the top of the bridge these words come to me in a whisper. I say these words as a prayer, as regret, as praise, I say: âOzempic, Ozempic.â
by Anonymous | reply 39 | April 30, 2024 5:12 PM |
@r36, âMalls arenât a thing anymore, they were when you were relevant!â
"My mall has a Lane Bryant AND a Cinnabon. Eat your heart out, lardo"
by Anonymous | reply 40 | April 30, 2024 5:22 PM |
This is why very old people are expected to go out to pasture...and stay there!
by Anonymous | reply 41 | April 30, 2024 5:26 PM |
Hopefully R41 goes soon
by Anonymous | reply 42 | April 30, 2024 5:33 PM |
Every now and then she comes out with the strangest comments in public.
A few years ago, when the special "Surviving Neverland" aired on Showtime (?) she was asked what she thought of the young men who were Kackson's victims. She replied, "They seemed to turn out okay, didn't they ?" She had to back-track on that comment when she came under attack.
When Sondheim died, she responded oddly with "Thank the Lord..." and finished with something about the contributions he made to B'way. Everyone questioned 1) How often do Jews ever say 'Thank the Lord' (next to never), and 2) Why didn't she mention her personal relationship with him that spanned half her career ? It was a comment that someone who hardly knew him would've made.
I'm wondering if we're all seeing the start of dementia, and her family is doing their best to keep it hidden from the public.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | April 30, 2024 5:58 PM |
Nice to see the aspie troll hop onâŠ
by Anonymous | reply 44 | April 30, 2024 6:13 PM |
OP, do you have anything else to do but start threads? Well, at least this one isn't bashing Biden.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | April 30, 2024 6:21 PM |
A great deal of folks commenting on social media do not blast Babs for the comment. They have a chuckle because it reminds them of their mums and aunties doing the exact same thing. Firing away sligthly un-pc,combining three thoughts without punctuation. Probably while balancing their dogs, coffe ice cream cones, peeking over their reading glasses and yelling at their stoic husbands.
Babs didnÂŽt have a personal relationship with Sondheim, she had a professional one. She commented on the passing of a highly gifted peer- who denied her a last hurrah in movies because of his mummy issues.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | April 30, 2024 6:53 PM |
r46 thinks Barbra can do no wrong and is excused from every single thing she's ever done.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | April 30, 2024 7:02 PM |
R43 I donât think itâs dementia. Sheâs been so sharp in interviews and in speeches lately. If anything, I think itâs wine and just old lady things.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | April 30, 2024 7:05 PM |
Why doesn't Melissa just powerwalk around her basement mall instead? It's much healthier and more respectable.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | April 30, 2024 7:11 PM |
Hilarious. And yes, very much like those old aunties and grandmas at family functions. They usually start by congratulating the plump ones on their pregnancy.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | April 30, 2024 7:13 PM |
R45 is the âwhy did you start a thread? How pathetic!â troll
Weird people on here who think everyone else who are on here are pathetic. Talk about insecure and mentally unstable.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | April 30, 2024 7:31 PM |
R47 Nope. Just having fun with pointless counter bitching
by Anonymous | reply 52 | April 30, 2024 8:19 PM |
Sheâs not being rude- itâs a simple statement and question. Internet nonsense.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | April 30, 2024 8:24 PM |
I saw the pics and wondered same, because she looks trimmer and great. But I'd never comment it under her photo! Jesus, Babs! You're old enough to know that some things are better left unsaid. This is what years and years of social media exposure has done to people -- removed most sense of decorum.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | April 30, 2024 8:29 PM |
âŠand whatâs wrong with taking the Ozempic? Is it shameful? Is there something wrong with losing weight and being asked how did you do it?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | April 30, 2024 8:29 PM |
âDidâ not do
by Anonymous | reply 56 | April 30, 2024 8:30 PM |
R15, sounds more like Joni Mitchell.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | April 30, 2024 8:33 PM |
Wegovy sounds like a website that tracks peoplesâ political contributions
by Anonymous | reply 58 | April 30, 2024 8:41 PM |
LMAO. Boomers on social media.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | April 30, 2024 9:41 PM |
^ You dumbfuck, Barbra Streisand is NOT a Boomer đ
by Anonymous | reply 61 | April 30, 2024 9:45 PM |
Does anyone else picture her doing this in a silk teddy seated in a popazon chair surrounded by hanging Boston ferns and sipping a glass of white wine while using her enormorsly long nails to scroll on her phone?
by Anonymous | reply 62 | April 30, 2024 9:46 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 64 | April 30, 2024 9:48 PM |
Same here, R62. Except instead of a glass of wine, I pictured her with a bowl of coffee ice cream.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | April 30, 2024 10:37 PM |
Streisand doesn't drink alcohol.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | April 30, 2024 10:44 PM |
Streisand could use a few drinks.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | April 30, 2024 10:46 PM |
In her book, Barbra BRAGS about being tactless and blunt. Itâs her distaste for small talk. Trouble is, Babs, unlike children, adults learn to be polite and tactful. Not being so is not about being âtruthfulâ or a serious artiste, itâs about being RUDE.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | April 30, 2024 10:52 PM |
R20, that's nice. I didn't mean to imply that there was acrimony -- just that some people have more awareness when it comes to humor.
I don't know how anyone could NOT see the humor iin WUD? Every scene, every moment is hilarious. Kahn stole the film and there wasn't an unfunny performance in the cast. The judge with the pills....I am Hugh. My jewels my jewels. The list goes on.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | April 30, 2024 11:08 PM |
Maybe she never saw the final film, R70. That happens.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | April 30, 2024 11:33 PM |
I thought this was about Melissa Manchester and made some dumb posts that make no sense now that I know it's about a different Melissa.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | April 30, 2024 11:53 PM |
Nothing says âlate stage capitalismâ like adults posting almost 80 comments about whether an elderly singer referred to an actress as possibly using ozempic.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | April 30, 2024 11:57 PM |
by Anonymous | reply 74 | April 30, 2024 11:58 PM |
R5 Seems you're the cunt here.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | May 1, 2024 3:05 AM |
R5, Im sorry. This is R75. I meant to say R18 is the cunt here.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | May 1, 2024 3:07 AM |
Barbra since you are talking about eating, is it true that youâve been passed around more than a canapĂ© tray at a cocktail party?
by Anonymous | reply 77 | May 1, 2024 7:50 AM |
R64 nailed it. They are friends and the question simply is not rude. Please tell me why? When someone loses significant weight and a friend or acquaintance wants to know how, why is it rude?
by Anonymous | reply 79 | May 1, 2024 4:36 PM |
R74, thatâs pretty funny. And Iâm a life long fan!
by Anonymous | reply 80 | May 1, 2024 4:38 PM |
People wonder the same question when any of these celebrities suddenly lose 40 pounds
by Anonymous | reply 82 | May 1, 2024 4:52 PM |
R79, as someome who is trying to lose weight without prescription meds, it would hurt me that someone didn't think I could do it on my own. It's just a little sad that Ozempic or whatever is the go-to reason for weight loss and not eating less and moving more.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | May 1, 2024 5:17 PM |
Melissa darling I've found a great script for you. It's about a loud, fat, obnoxious white trash bitch. Just like every other part you've ever played. Mazel tov!
by Anonymous | reply 85 | May 1, 2024 6:07 PM |
R83, you must remove the stigma society places on weight loss drugs. You lose weight by hard work and that's great. Others use the drugs to lose weight and that's great too. There is no shame in losing weight no matter the course of action.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | May 1, 2024 9:13 PM |
R79 It's rude because it's personal, and McCarthy may not want the public to know how she's losing weight. As we can see, McCarthy gave no public answer to Streisand's question.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | May 1, 2024 10:37 PM |
^ Yeah, she did, she said the old bat was a "treasure"... You know, like your crazy old aunt in the home đ€Ș
by Anonymous | reply 88 | May 1, 2024 10:47 PM |
R88 That's not an answer to the question 'Did you take Ozempic ?'
by Anonymous | reply 89 | May 1, 2024 11:39 PM |
McCarthy gave a statement tonight.
She said she still loves Barbra, and knows the question came from a place of friendship.

Why is there nothing in this post that has to do with me!?
by Anonymous | reply 95 | May 2, 2024 1:48 AM |
R83. You importantly said âtrying to lose weightâ. That provides the explanation why it is so frequently assumed that these medications are the answer. Sorry to be discouraging, but your chances of losing weight if you have been significantly overweight for a long time are pretty low. Your chances of keeping it off long term are almost nil. You should be thankful for these medications and, if you are severely overweight, look into them.
