The End of a Royal Romance: Prince Nikolaos of Greece and Princess Tatiana Announce Divorce
Nikolaos and Tatiana Blatnik met in London, and after a long engagement, they were married on August 24, 2010, in the cathedral of St. Nikolaos on the island of Spetses, three hours by boat from Athens. The wedding, celebrated in grand style, saw among the guests many crowned heads of Europe, including Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden, the future King Felipe with Letizia of Spain, and the future Kings of the Netherlands Maxima and Willem-Alexander.
Nikolaos of Greece is the second son of Constantine II and Anne-Marie of Denmark. He was born in Rome in 1969: the family had indeed fled to Italy after the coup that ended the Greek monarchy. Educated at the Hellenic College of London, he graduated from Brown University with a master's in international relations. He has worked for various companies, including NatWest Markets in London, and currently works in his father's private office.
Born in 1980, Tatiana was born in Caracas, Venezuela. Daughter of Ladislav Vladimir Blatnik and Marie Blanche Bierlein, she boasts descent from Elector Prince Wilhelm II of Hesse, and moved to Switzerland with her family at a young age. A graduate of Georgetown in sociology, she has worked for many years in the advertising sector, also serving as an event planner for Diane von Furstenberg.

The royal couple live on the Greek isle Spetses. The news of the separation has taken the Greek people by surprise: just a few weeks ago, Nikolaos and Tatiana were seen smiling in London for a ceremony in memory of King Constantine, the last king of Greece. The two entered arm in arm into St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, the chosen location for the important commemoration.

Excellent pedigrees for swanning through life with zero accountability but considered royalty.

Prince Nikolaos of Greece and Princess Tatiana are an excellent example of giving back. They are involved in many charities helping people throughout Greece.
Nikolaos' dream was to return to live in Greece, which he and his wife have done for many years. Growing up in Switzerland, Tatiana had a harder time adjusting to life in Greece. Sorry to hear of of their break-up.
