First half of Season 2, episode 1: "HOW ARE THEY SO FUCKING ADORABLE?!?"

My god, they are so fucking adorable, and that whole montage really captured that flush of first love and was just brilliantly done.

Joe and Kit are close and come across as two mature guys, chances are they have open communication and are aware of what the other is and isn't comfortable with and act accordingly. This whole thing is a non-starter.

Okay, I finished season 2... another one evening binge of an entire season.

This show is SO good. Both heartwarming and heartbreaking. It's really amazing how good this is.

I didn't see any plotline that was relatable to me now, but it was really nice all the diversity of plots and attentions to characters that season 2 brought. I'm just so glad this exists for the current generation. Back in my day, if you even saw or head of any "gay" thing in the media it was negative, or tragic. It was massive news if a show was going to show two men kiss, and in at least one notable case, they chickened out and edited it out at the last minute.

The final scene where Charlie was talking about the abuse he suffered and how it made him feel about himself really REALLY resonated, and it's sad that that is STILL an issue in this day and age.

Cannot wait for season 3!

R588, those teachers are half my age. It's not too late for them. It's too late for me. I'm completely broken (physically, mentally, emotionally, sexually) and there's no time left for repairs. I will never know love, and that's just the way it is. Let alone love as amazing as shown in this show (which lets face it, isn't really realistic... NOBODY is as good a boyfriend as Nick... that's pure wish fulfillment... pure heart-meltingly, heart-achingly, heart-stopping wish fulfillment... and I love it).

Exciting news for Kit. We all know Bash will be supporting unlike some.

I do not have time. I have not been physically touched by another man in almost ten years (and the one time that makes it less than ten years, I paid for). Sometimes keeping hope alive is toxic and more painful than just accepting that it's never going to happen.

And yes, it's unrealistic, but it's so amazingly sweet, and it's great how it's modeling healthy behaviors for younger generations. It's realistic on a different level though... showing the pains and traumas and fears and joys of first love. And the whole awkwardness of it all. It's NOT realistic to reality, but compared to most other TV, it's pretty amazing.

I have to say I love the resolution to the plot line with the "first" boyfriend... I had a very similar experience in my youth, and even my last dating experience was similar: a guy who just wanted to use me for his own benefit, be in control at all times, was annoyed anytime I wanted to do something or tried to set any of the agenda at all...

It really resonated when he finally stood up to him at the end of season two. That was just epic. I LOVED that that is being modeled for a whole new generation of gay men, so they will learn faster than I did that you shouldn't let someone use and abuse you that way just because you're desperate for attention or for someone to "like" you... and for other gay men to show more respect.

My dating experiences were all pretty uniformly bad, even though some started out amazing. And I love how this show really handles this and explores it. And contrasts with the central relationship which is far from perfect, but WAY more healthy, caring, mutual, and loving.

I can't get this show out of my mind.

It's insane. I don't think I've ever seen any couple with that kind of realistic real-feeling chemistry. It's totally believable.

That final scene with Charlie confessing how the bullying made him feel, and Nick just reacting to it was a master-class in acting. I don't know how they found these two actors, and I have NO idea how those actors manage to have this much chemistry and play those roles and those scenes without falling deeply and madly in love with each other in real life, but they're just amazing. Hell, I'm falling deeply and madly in love with both of them.

The direction in this show is pretty top notch, imho. All credit to the actors, but the writing and direction shouldn't be discounted in making this all work.
