A month or so ago there was a message out about his failing health, suggesting he was headed to home hospice.

Age 82 is not bad, it's unfortuante he was ill toward the end. SCTV was really something back in the day, helped make famous, some pretty funny people.
Maybe Joe's got a seat on a talk show set where ever he landed after leaving here. He belongs behind the desk, not a guest.
