There's a lot of queer coding in the movie (David only seems to keep Star around as a honeypot, and makes a comment about how his blood is in Michael's veins), but I don't even think they're trying to be subtle about Sam being gay.

Frankly, the only non-explicitly-gay horror movie that I would even argue is gayer is Scream, partially because of how empowered the women are, and partly because Billy and Stu are clearly fucking.
