TV movies were much better in the 70s when networks had their own studios for TV films. Many of them seemed cinematic (even “The Homecoming,” the pilot for “The Waltons) and some great horror too.

Me, too, OP. Lots of trash but also many movies with top-flight acting and production values.
Summer of My German Soldier was one of the best T.V. movies I've seen--as good or better than any theater-distributed film. Bruce Davison (of Longtime Companion fame) and DL fave Kristy McNichol both gave performances that took my breath away. Esther Rolle was also first-rate.

[quote]I enjoyed Surviving. It was a very good film.
R4 And what an all-star cast!
A who's who of '80s pop culture -- Molly Ringwald, Zack Galligan, River Phoenix, Heather O'Rourke, Ellen Burstyn, Len Cariou, Paul Sorvino, Marsha Mason, etc.

The Best Little Girl in the World, with Jennifer Jason Leigh, inspired a whole generation of American girls to try self-starvation!

“The Stranger Within,” basically “Rosemary’s Baby” except with aliens instead of Satanists.
Starring DL fave Barbara Eden.

BAD RONALD is my all time favorite. I don't know why it hasn't been remade for today with Ronald obsessed with anime or a fantasy TV show.
