Allegedly he had a serious psychotic break and was checked into a Mental Health Facility and has been there for 10 months now.
Jake Lloyd, who played little Anakin Skywalker in Episode I, has been in a Psych Ward for the past 10 months

His crappy acting in Star Wars Phantom Menace, sent ME to the psych ward.
He sucked that badly!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | March 12, 2024 11:51 PM |
He was a very annoying little kid.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 12, 2024 11:52 PM |
R2 everyone knows it wasn’t him. Idiot.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 12, 2024 11:52 PM |
Well, it looks like his parents were brother and sister.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 12, 2024 11:55 PM |
Well that's very sad. I hope the in-patient treatment helps him.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 12, 2024 11:56 PM |
You don't go to movies much do ya R2.

"[His mother] Lisa recounted how Jake, now 35, expressed a desire to turn off the car, and unsettlingly, proceeded to carry out the act while they were in the middle of 3 lanes of traffic ... leading to a tumultuous exchange of yelling and screaming between Jake and her."
WTF? Poor guy. Poor mom!
Sounds like bipolar disorder.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | March 13, 2024 12:12 AM |
He was absolutely tortured after his Star Wars gigs. Terrible to do that - just a child.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 13, 2024 12:14 AM |
R2 The Sixth Sense and Episode 1 came out the same year. No way you thought that was the same kid. They don’t look alike and one was raved by viewers and critics and Hollywood for his phenomenal performance while everyone shit all over the other for not being able to act.

I cannot imagine how horrible the "audition" process is for little children in Hollywood. So many boys are prey. So many suicides.

Nutso, he is.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 13, 2024 12:25 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 13, 2024 1:11 AM |
R6 made me laugh. I love you, you dick.

R10, he’s been diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic. He’s very seriously ill.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 13, 2024 1:21 AM |
R19 where does it say that?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 13, 2024 1:24 AM |
R12 you don't know what I remember and what I don't so f*** off. In my head as much as I remember watching that movie at all because I was so bored at the time I still think it was that kid that played him and not the other one so shut the fuck up.
R6. I didn't say anybody else remembered it what way I said I did you dumb f***.

I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 13, 2024 1:43 AM |
R22 no article claims that. I’ve been looking. I asked the retard to share where he got that info from but he hasn’t shared…. I wonder why.

I knew someone whose son was up for the role of the son in the movie Signs. He made it to the final auditions and his mom said they were extremely nice to him and explained to him that ‘his’ dog dies in the movie but that the dog will be fine IRL and if he has a pet he doesn’t have to imagine what it would be like if his pet own died if it upset him. She said they were almost overprotective of him.
Anyway, one of the Culkin kids got the role, so nepotism won in the end.

He's been diagnosed as schizophrenic.
In this case, I'm on the side of leave him alone.

R27 WHERE is this diagnosis? You keep saying it without a source…
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 13, 2024 1:58 AM |
And then replying to yourself like at r28. Where is the source of the diagnosis?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 13, 2024 1:58 AM |
I mean, it's in the article
Hearing a jumble of incoherent speech is often associated with conditions like schizophrenia, which Jake was diagnosed with back in 2008.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | March 13, 2024 2:05 AM |
R31 the article does not say that. It doesn’t mention schizophrenia at all….
by Anonymous | reply 32 | March 13, 2024 2:08 AM |
ok, sorry. I got confused and pulled that copy/paste out of my ass.

[quote] Jake, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2008, was admitted to a hospital later that day. A few months later, he entered the rehabilitation facility for an 18-month stay.
[quote] “He didn’t tell us he was hearing voices at the time. But he was,” she recalled. “When they finally told him [he was schizophrenic], it totally threw him off into an even worse depression. It was really hard.”
by Anonymous | reply 35 | March 13, 2024 3:32 AM |
"Schizophrenia" is being challenged as a diagnosis. See link.
Psychology is sometimes a game of semantics. Bipolar disorder can be characterized by psychotic breaks and paranoia as well.
It's not like a hard science where you can diagnose someone with a microscope.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | March 13, 2024 3:34 AM |
[quote][R27] WHERE is this diagnosis? You keep saying it without a source…
Well, I only wrote it once in r27, but it's in multiple articles - the source is his mother.

But it wasn’t Hollywood. It was Pennsylvania. We all lived in NY so it was a lot easier for his parents to take him there and back for auditions than to Hollywood.

He looks very different. One of the articles mentioned his mom bringing him a Star Wars action figure in the hospital.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | March 13, 2024 5:24 PM |
Schizophrenia meds make you gain weight, r52. It's bad if he has voice crises, my sister was (for lack of a better description) committed when she was 21 or 23, has voice crises, and has been in an care facility for almost half her life now. She gets periods where she's lucid, gets off her meds, then goes so ballistic that they have to transfer her to another facility, without telling us. During her ballistic times, she blames us for whatever and will be incommunicado usually for 3 years or more. Both of her parents are dead (we share a father), so she's basically a ward of the state.

Bingo R14 He was probably sauced and tossed before he even knew men put penises in assholes or understood why they do that. It's no wonder he's so fucked up in the head.

He's out and sends his love!
[quote]After a recent 18-month stint in a Southern California inpatient mental health facility, Lloyd said he is feeling “pretty good”. He is still receiving care from a different treatment center, but can come and go from there as he pleases.
[quote]“I’m feeling pretty good, considering these 20 years of time that have come to an end,” Lloyd said. “I can now accept taking on continued treatment, and therapy, and my meds. Everyone’s been very supportive.”
Good for him, what a horrible disease.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | January 5, 2025 8:50 PM |
What would be the reasoning behind bringing him a Star Wars action figure, like his mother did? It’s not his character, at least; maybe he has a collection and likes to add to it. Still seems a bit odd.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | January 5, 2025 9:25 PM |

Psych meds often make your face balloon like that, same thing happened to Sinéad O'Connor who was also medicated to the gills.
