Joe Scarborough brings a fire vibe when sitting at the table.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | March 7, 2024 6:27 PM |
Since someone decided to close out the last thread by bumping it to 600, efectively ending any discussion, I'm repeating the last comment so at least one other person sees it:
A commenter asked about Steve Benjamin, Democratic strategist...
------------------------
Steve Benjamin, bald Democratic strategist for Biden, must have some worth to the campaign, but he's useless on TV. Nicole and David Jolly were pressing him to answer a question about how the Biden campaign could/should reach out to.Haley voters.
He's a robot without a bit of nuance. David asked the question and got a robotic prepared answer, and Nicole tried asking the same question twice trying - by changing a few words in the same question - to elicit the answer, or any answer. All three times he gave the same robotic answer talking about Biden's accomplishments. It was ridiculous. And he's clueless about the state of the election. Jolly, a former Republican who frequently says the only way out of this mess is to vote for Democrats, was legitimately probing for what the answer might be for Biden to reach Haley undecideds. Benjamin couldn't get passed his canned response, which didn't come close to really answering their question.
They gave up and Nicole, who made some comment about the answer being the same day by day, ended the interview while she and David smiled and repressed laughter.
As always, Democrats need some serious help in getting out their message, and Benjamin is useless at it.

And not to beat a dead (if very handsome) dead horse, but it just seems weird that someone as smart and hot as Jonathan Swan wouldn't be gobbled up by MSNBC or CNN and be a regularly featured guest. Even he is not going to get me to tune into Fox.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 7, 2024 7:21 PM |
I love Swan because he seems to be the only person who knows how to interview Trump where Trump consistently comes off happily as an ignorant asshole without realizing it. I think he sees Swan as a cute central casting pixie who really likes him.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 7, 2024 7:27 PM |
I don't think I can watch the SOTU tonight. If there's a prompter error or the inevitable Palestinian interruption, it will be painful. Jen Psaki and Symone will try to paint a positive face on things.

R17 was a reply to r16. It was the little lies that MAGAts tell.
It is exactly the type of comment that a Transition Monitor dislikes. I have MSNBC on one of my devices, 2am to midnight, 24/7.

She gave Biden a button with the dead girl on it (the one who was killed while jogging). She must've said something about her. Of course, he used that button in the middle of his speech and humiliated MTG.

It is delightful that JoScar is so low key today after President Biden SLAYED the Republican Party.
But I do enjoy watching Joe SCREAM at Evangelicals and Southern Baptists who have turned their backs on Jesus.
And Sweet Baby Jesus, someone needs to tell Republicans that, yes, the "suburbs" are important but you do not sway women by having an American Stepford Wife on heavy PMS give your response pleading for women to leave their jobs and return to their kitchens. What it proved is the Republicans do not understand women FUCKING AT ALL.

MSNBC is now talk radio on TV with the exception of a lackluster midday lineup where they hammer the same three or four points of the day. ' The network is being starved of funds to do actual reporting and they need a news overview at least once an hour. Their format is stagnant.

Those glasses on Masha, so avant-garde. I was looking at that exact pair in blue but sold out, limited edition. They are J F Rey frames if anyone is interested. It's an independent brand NOT owned by Luxottica.
FYI, If you own frames made by Tom Ford, Oakley, Armani, Persol, Ralph Lauren, Ray-Ban, Dolce&Gabbana, Prada, Burberry, Chanel, Versace, Vogue, Foster Grant, Target, Sunglass Hut, LensCrafters or Sears, guess what? All owned by Luxottica all made in China now. You literally are just paying for the brad name, not the quality those brands one had.
Dont wast you money unless it's an independent brand.

(Maybe not the wig thing since Symone doesn't wear wigs.)
by Anonymous | reply 71 | March 9, 2024 1:41 PM |
Symone needs to cut back on all the makeup for a morning show - especially the eyelashes. She's such a smart woman, and offers so much to the conversation - but its sometimes lost on the viewer (I think) from the distraction of all that make-up. Just my opinion.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | March 9, 2024 2:25 PM |

I just wish Symone cut back on the make-up, as I said above (especially so early in the day). She's an attractive woman - doesn't need the false eyelashes.
Thumbs up to Eugene Daniels for wearing that light blue checkered jacket this morning (I believe Symone wore that earlier in the season). Only he could pull that off.

I'm watching Andrea Mitchell right now - she has on Lisa Rubin, Paul Butler and Andrew Wiseman talking the Fani case. Someone is breathing rather heavily through their nose off-camera and it's overshadowing what the guests have to say - it's very distracting, to say the least. Isn't there anyone in audio who can fix this ?
BTW, I think it's Mitchell who is doing the heavy nasal breathing.
by Anonymous | reply 141 | March 15, 2024 5:48 PM |
I heard strange breathing noises this morning on Morning Joe so it’s probably not Andrea.

Joy will endeavor to slant the facts to show any Black official in a favorable light. Fani Willis exhibited poor judgment and left herself open to this, jeopardizing an important trial. She paid her boyfriend a million bucks--no one held a gun to her head to do it.
She needs to go. Give her slot to Ari and Ari's slot to Katie Feng.
by Anonymous | reply 158 | March 16, 2024 12:09 AM |

I sort of figured that when she came into court with her clothes on backwards. That's cute in a toddler, but a DA should be able to dress herself.
by Anonymous | reply 160 | March 16, 2024 1:08 AM |
Joy was SPOT ON in her opening about how the system was basically built for rich white men like DUMP to get away with anything. This motherfucker is on TAPE low-key bullying the Georgia SOS to find him the exact amount of votes needed to swing the state for him, and the DA is the one on trial? Nevermind the shitload of other illegal and improper caught-on-tape things he’s said and done before and during his presidency that should prevent him from being the president of a pie factory, let alone the fucking president of the United States. If Obama had done less than a fraction of the shit that Dump has done, not only would he never be able to run again, but he would probably already be in jail. At the end of the day, the case in Georgia is about a blatant attempt to overthrow a free and fair election, and whether or not the DA kept cash in her house, or flew to the tropics with her boyfriend, who also happened to be the leading attorney on the case (after nobody else had the cojones to take the job), is a non-factor.

r186, from Morning Joe to Nicolle's Deadline White House is worthless. I agree.
I'm on the WC, get up at 3amPT to watch MJ (LOVE when Joe swears) and I go to bed at 7am PT for my morning nap. I get up at 10am PT to watch the View, do my morning computer work, check mail, check online orders, visit DL, FB X-lon, whatever until 1pmPT and Nicolle until 3pmPTwhen Ari comes on. Sometime during the Ari/Joy two hrs I go to the gym, do my knee recovery on the recumbent bike and watch MSNBC on my Android App. Today is Monday, so I will watch Jen (usually Chris) then Rachel and Lawrence. Stephanie still is better off right after MJ as a Business recap, but she became Rashida's Soccer Mommie during the pandemic. Like Ari, who has wigger insight, Stephanie has cornered Youth Vote Outreach for MSNBC. I only watch her on Fridays for her kiddy/progressives roundtables. Hate when she cries over dead people. I like Alex because she is so emphatic and usually has odball insights.

Maybe some backstage stress. Everybody's gotta pay their bills and maintain their access and fame.
Just like everything else, we'll all get tired of being outraged (again) and move on, because whatcha gonna do?

Meet the Press is not an MSNBC show, and it's not under the control of Rashida Jones. It's an NBC show that airs Sunday mornings on NBC affiliates (and is later replayed on MSNBC). Ronna McDaniel was hired by NBC, not by MSNBC specifically. Rashida has said that McDaniel won't be appearing on MSNBC shows.
[quote] I unfollowed on Xitter every MSNBC anchor I followed and watch

NBC is getting exactly what it wants from this 'hire' : everyone is talking about it. Not only on MSNBC, but on ABC, CNN and FOX, too (both with different takes). You cannot buy this kind of publicity which will pump up their ratings. Remember - this no such thing as bad publicity, just get the network name right.
I think in the end, NBC will drop her and this won't go through. But they're not going to do it right away - they're going to milk this free publicity cow until the last drop.
by Anonymous | reply 378 | March 26, 2024 2:42 PM |
I'm not sure this is in the category of "All Publicity is Good Publicity".
NBC now has a big black mark against it for the intelligent among us. They're not gaining anything with the Fox lemmings who don't watch NBC.

Hughes really held his own against her. He defended himself and his work, but really didn't want to 'het into' it with her. He came back after the commercial break for part two of the interview, and Whoopi had to cut it short thanks to Sunny trying to 'challenge' him once again, and his defending himself.

Katie Tur was all over congratulating that Repug's wife arguing before the supreme court yesterday. What was that about? Women Power? Really? For a woman who if she won would kill all forms of the morning after pill and put all other drugs approved by the FDA on the chopping block to the whims of the whoever decided they didn't want that drug on the market for religious reasons?
Katie, pic hour battles, and more importantly, pick who you elevate into status. Just because she's a women does not mean she deserves the accolades. If Hitler was still alive, you could make the same argument for supporting Eva Braun.

You need to pay closer attention. It was if she was the president of the fan club for "...that Repug's wife arguing before the supreme court yesterday."
It was embarrassing how she celebrated her and didn't ask a single question of her or point out any of her fallacies. And there were MANY. She let lies go right by.
It was one of the most unprofessional interviews I've seen her do, and that's saying much.
It's not necessarily a problem that she is a Republican, but she very often only tells one side of a story and lets lies and misstatements go unchallenged. She's supposed to be a news person, not a cheerleader for Republicans.

[quote] MSNBC President Rashida Jones participated in recruiting former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel earlier this month and McDaniel was offered a more lucrative contributor contract after she agreed to appear on MSNBC and not just NBC News
What were they thinking? Did Rashida Jones really think that Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O'Donnell, Nicolle Wallace and company would eagerly embrace Ronna McDaniel and want her to appear on their shows -- after years of calling out her lies? Did Rashida think MSNBC's viewers would welcome Ronna McDaniel with open arms? How could they not foresee what a shitshow this would be -- and what an affront it would be to MSNBC's hosts and viewers? Everyone involved in trying to hire Ronna McDaniel should be fired for this colossal fuck-up.

The question I would like every reporter to ask is "What would disqualify Trump, in your mind?" Ari's tedious A block lecture on the First Amendment was pointless.

The MSNBC parallels continue. Captain Bimington was a perpetual buffoon, wrong on every decision or opinion.

by Anonymous | reply 544 | April 3, 2024 2:16 AM |
R542 - “Imagine Chris Hayes on top of you with that chunky dad bod.”
Uh, no. Just no. Nope. I said NO! 🚫 I’ve always disliked his manic energy. He’s insufferable to listen to, let alone fuck.
by Anonymous | reply 545 | April 3, 2024 3:30 AM |
You are so correct R542. What a disgusting thought.
by Anonymous | reply 546 | April 3, 2024 3:50 AM |
Hayes isn't bad, and he showed a thick basket on that town hall he did with Rachel several months ago. Nice thighs, too.
by Anonymous | reply 547 | April 3, 2024 3:52 AM |
Child bearing hips and no Adam’s Apple.
by Anonymous | reply 548 | April 3, 2024 4:20 AM |
I was really furious at Hayes for saying when the war ends is entirely up to Netanyahu. How about Hamas releasing the hostages?
There are two sides in this war, and one side decided to start it and is holding hostages. Yet apparently Haynes thinks they’re just a passive observer to the war.

That's a simplification, but...

^I totally agree.
by Anonymous | reply 555 | April 3, 2024 1:50 PM |
R554 I agree. This is most perplexing in this election.
by Anonymous | reply 556 | April 3, 2024 2:24 PM |
Minorities don’t stand in solidarity despite progressive doctrine. There are Blacks who hade Latinos vice versa, and even anti-immigrant Latinos. Remember, back in the early 20th century, the established German-Jewish immigrants hated the new Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe. Add cultural conservatism and resentment of taxes.

Minorities just love watching their government spend billions importing millions of illegal South American peasants to replace them.
by Anonymous | reply 561 | April 3, 2024 6:12 PM |
With all the reporting on Democrats bleeding support among key constituencies, one would think pro-Biden voters would be more welcoming to (former) Republicans for Biden like Elise Jordan.

I hope Lawrence O'Donnell is back tonight.
I think Velshi is a good guy, but he's too hyper for me at 9:00am CST.
And with this latest motion by Jack Smith to Judge Cannon to shit or get off the pot and issue a decision on that stupid PRA argument made by Trump, I need my fix of legal analysis and no other program is better at that than O'Donnell's.

by Anonymous | reply 572 | April 4, 2024 3:22 AM |
I wonder how Stephanie feels when Lawrence isn't there and her lead-in viewers drop like a stone.
I can't watch Ayman and Ali anymore, because of their anti president Biden, Pro Palestinian and consequently, pro-Iranian positions.

In the same way that Joe Scarborough still believes he is a member of the True Southern Baptist Convention.
Pure philosophical gymnastics.
Joe needs to do an official conversion to The Episcopal Church, otherwise he remains the child of Pentecostal snake handlers.
Mika will love you more, as a member of one of the three lungs of Christianity.
Repent, you SNAKE HANDLER!

Some blowhard is on right now lecturing the working class about how they're doing really well. Oh it's just a disconnect between how you're doing and what you're feeling. You're just mad because you see too many immigrants. You're just tricked by crime propaganda. You're just irrational. Prime example of a jerk neolib who's really a republican minus the social attitudes. Prime example of why the democrats underachieve and underperform. People are angry because they are absolutely fucking broke and at their limit. Even if their quality of life meets some minimum standard, their mind is in hell stressing about maintaining about it and how one 500 dollar emergency could put them out to the gutter. I'm not mad about mexicans I'm mad because I haven't seen a doctor or a dentist in almost a decade. I'm still voting for Biden but these smug dinosaurs make me sick.
by Anonymous | reply 583 | April 5, 2024 9:12 PM |
r583 edit - I don't know why I wrote "maintaining about it" instead of "maintaining it" - I think I wrote something else first but only partially deleted it and didn't notice.

Blowhard is right, R583. That’s the fast talking, born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Donnie Douche Deutsch. His father hired him into the family advertising business in 1983, that had an estimated worth of $10 million at that time. Granted, he had good ideas, and over time built an incredible ad empire, but in no way does this obnoxious insufferable prick know anything about making ends meet for the struggling working class.
