Late to the discussion, but I agree that September - December 2024 makes sense for HS3's release. I don't think it'll be done being edited and dubbed any earlier than September and Netflix has already stated that it's coming out at some point this year. It works out because Joe and Kit will be more visible with other projects around that time, too, and conveniently those projects are each actor's most mainstream post-HS project.

In terms of The Wild Robot trailer, Kizzy reposted it. Tobie, Cormac, and Alice liked it.

R15 These are all great points. Patrick did update his bio to say "S3 coming soon!" but that's pretty generic and could just mean 2024 in general, same with The Wild Robot having a coming soon tagline when it's coming out in September. Disney and Dreamworks for JoeKit in the same month is insane.

I still assume post-production was less taxing this time around without all the Paris technicalities, but there are always some mysteries we're unaware of re: production. Still blindsided by Hayley as Aunt Diane tbh.

Regardless, they might give us a small featurette and release date in the spring as they did last year, plus bigger previews at Tudum in June (last year, this was Cori and Kizzy introducing the episode titles + the first scene of S2 with the Shatter song). Think the big question is if they'll have them do some US press earlier on again, including Pride. Maybe they could do New York this time. And we'll see about London.

This article confirms a few more of the actors' characters. I think we knew most of this already but I think some of the actors' voice roles were still question marks.

R40 Right, and I think they generally try to have a finished product when they do press. Some interviews are filmed ahead of time during production, and we know they did another round of those for S3 in December. But otherwise, most interviews are done when they've seen the season they're promoting. Even the Teen Vogue article was only partially from set interviews, while the rest of the article came later after Joe and Kit did the photoshoot in NY.

In that US press from last June, it's pretty clear they'd seen the final product of S2 even if it didn't release until August. Hence cute things like Joe rambling about the fake people in the Louvre. That press spanned June 8th to 10th, and I think Joe wrapped Agatha just before that? So they might be able to do something similar with Kit's filming schedule.

There are also interviews like GQ where they hadn’t filmed S2 yet, so it was mostly a photoshoot and retrospective on S1. For all we know, they've already done something like this for a S2 retrospective. I don't remember if we knew about the GQ interview/photoshoot before it dropped. It was for MOTY, so pretty special.

I've been seeing a lot of the animators and filmmakers gushing on Instagram and Twitter about how much they love The Wild Robot and how beautiful it is. This is going to be a massive, massive film. So stoked for Kit to have such a prominent part of this cast.

Voice acting is also a fantastic job in terms of life flexibility. Generally can record it from any major city so can often fit around other work if needed or if he wants a few months breather to be at London with family and mates but also to be working, can record from London. Really good quality of life, money, and big audience — plus he’s great at it.

I’d also love to hear Cori do some more animated stuff. I’m not sure of her accent work (just haven’t heard it) but she has a really great enthusiastic voice and tone

For RWRB, it probably could have been more memorable/impactful as a limited series. Don't think the actors hate each other but it also doesn't really feel like they got to develop their characters and chemistry to the fullest.

And unlike Joe and Kit, I don't know how many people would agree that they were the best actors for the job or that their performances were beyond incredible. In comparison, Joe isn't suffering because the show cut Ollie as a baby brother.

I enjoyed rwrb for what it was, a cheesy visual lobotomy where you don’t have to think too much and I enjoyed it because it was like the cheesy as hallmark films all the straights get. I probably would probably watch a reaction vid of the sequel if there is one but it should have been a series and have some training and better character development for tzp because he clearly actually enjoyed the character.

I do think the actors like and respect each other enough and would be happy to work together again but they’re not “besties” like even Edvin and Omar aren’t all that close but for sure clearly love working together.

Joe and Kit although platonic just seem to have something more, maybe because it’s their first big project and they’re going through the motions and all the shit together whilst the other duos have other projects, even ones they’re filming at the same time.

Not Kit's first project but still his first as a romantic co-lead where the entire crux of the story lies on how much you can sell your chemistry and budding love story with another young actor. I still haven't watched YR but I don't know if it's entirely comparable to that extent.

I can't even compare it to something like the trio from the Potter movies since HP didn't rely on romantic chemistry between young actors at the core of it. Romance wasn't the focus. Also think they met super super super young, like 10 years old? While the Heartstopper cast met more comfortably in that young adult age range.

Some spec over at r/HeartstopperAO about S3's release date and someone mentioned Netflix will be doing its first ever in-person Upfronts event. It's on May 15th in NYC. I don't know if Heartstopper would be represented there, but the article mentions that the event lines up with Netflix's "increasing efforts to mount events connected to top originals like Bridgerton and Stranger Things."

We can potentially add that to the May pile along with Joe closing Sweeney Todd, Wasia Project's New York dates, and (maybe) the Met Gala.
