Sally Struthers, of all people, said the same thing in a Gilbert Gotfried interview - that Presley was incredibly beautiful and she loved her brief time with him, yet she wasn’t distressed when he moved on. She said there was never a sense he could be owned, so you couldn’t think of blame.

I’ve never heard of women describing relationships ending that way before, actually. But somehow he inspired that. It’s curious. (I’m kind of indifferent to him, myself. But I guess he had enormous impact in person.)
