90 years ago today, Eddi-Rue 'Rue' McClanahan was born in Healdton, OK. A beloved DL icon, best known for her roles as 'Vivian Harmon' on the TV series "Maude" (1972-78), 'Fran Crowley' on the series "Mama's Family" ( 11984-85) and "Blanche Dvereaux" on "The Golden Girls" (1985 -1992) for which she won an Emmy in 1987, and repeated the character in "Golden Palace" (1992-93). McClanahan died on June 3, 2010, at the age of 76, at New York–Presbyterian Hospital after she suffered a brain hemorrhage. She was cremated after her death.
