Love it!

Just like a paperback novel
The kind the drugstore sells

Is that Helen Lawson ??????!!!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 20, 2024 1:51 AM |
I love it too. She's not the most beautiful woman in the world, but you have to give Kristen Wiig credit - she has a banging body and has really made herself into a very attractive woman. I love her style.
Considering where she started on SNL.

You gotta love those characters she played on Saturday Night Love.

No credit for Julia Duffy?

Another Apple+ FLOP

This show has Datalounge written all over it.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 20, 2024 2:17 AM |
So Kaia Gerber can act now? Next she'll tell us she's a nuclear physicist.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 20, 2024 2:25 AM |
It’s like they found the gayest datalounger, and the concept leapt out from his mind like Athena from Zeus

Mindy Cohn spotted at the 1:07 mark. Natalie FINALLY hit the big time.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 20, 2024 2:36 AM |
Looks FABULOUS! Also, it appears as though Ricky and Josh Lucas may have a “connection,” as well. Can’t wait!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 20, 2024 2:41 AM |
Uh oh Ricky Martin is in it. I must watch.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 20, 2024 2:41 AM |
PS As much as I dislike nepo babies, I must admit Kaia Gerber was surprisingly charismatic and effective in her episode of American Horror Stories not too long ago. It seems she’s playing a Sharon Tate-esque type anyway, so it may work.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 20, 2024 2:46 AM |
Ricky Martin is a 52 year old pool boy?!!! Yes, please! He looks 20 years younger than Josh Lucas even though they're the same age.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 20, 2024 2:51 AM |
Yes, this looks gayer than Christmas.
I don't care who knows it dammit: I will be watching.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 20, 2024 3:30 AM |
I can’t imagine how many sensitive snowflakes will melt since apparently the main pictured cast is almost entirely white, with Ricky and the black chick the only POC.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 20, 2024 3:41 AM |
R15 She did fine in the comedy 'Bottoms', too. And believe me I wasn't hoping to like her.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 20, 2024 3:46 AM |
Who remembers THIS classic novel of the era?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 20, 2024 4:10 AM |
Everything she does is in air quotes.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 20, 2024 4:28 AM |
Fabulous poster.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 20, 2024 4:31 AM |
What is the tone of this supposed to be exactly?
She’s had some good surgery.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 20, 2024 7:09 AM |
Her face in the poster is made in Photoshop R23. The whole poster is made in Photoshop and Illustrator. It's not how any of them really look.
This is what it's about: "Palm Royale is an upcoming period comedy miniseries created by Abe Sylvia based on the novel Mr. & Mrs. American Pie by Juliet McDaniel. A woman works towards attaining a place in Palm Beach high society, in the process learning what she will and won't do to achieve this".
It sounds fun and I like the cast. It's set to be released on March 20, 2024.

Go it's Gilded Age with gogo boots?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 20, 2024 11:43 AM |
Is the woman in the mauve caftan supposed to be Janney?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | February 20, 2024 11:55 AM |
[quote]Go it's Gilded Age with gogo boots?
Or a comedy version of Capote vs the Swans.
I think I'm into it. I don't need another subscription, but if this is good, I'll at least get one to binge the episodes.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 20, 2024 12:15 PM |
That’s Maureen McCormack! That not 50 year old Kristen Wiig!

[quote] So Kaia Gerber can act now? Next she'll tell us she's a nuclear physicist.
And this is why I won’t watch this. The invasion of nepo babies is out of control.
There are countless, talented, trained, hard-working performers waiting tables and fighting just to get an audition. Then this privileged princess just waltzes into a career because her look-alike mommy was a supermodel and her dad is best friends with George Clooney. She’s never had to work a real job in her life, grew up rich and pampered and now she’s gifted an acting career…just because.
No thank you. It may be impossible to totally escape them - especially moving forward - but for a curiosity project like this, I’ll pass.

R29, this is nothing new! WTF do you think a monarchy is?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 9, 2024 1:05 AM |
R29 I know, it’s infuriating.
Last I checked the U.S didn’t have a monarchy, R30.

I love the cover, it looks exactly like those big bestselling sagas from the 1970s I always find for 2 dollars in the used bookstore near my home. The always look so glamorous, and I always say I'm going to buy one for the hell of it and read it but I never do.3
by Anonymous | reply 32 | March 9, 2024 2:07 AM |
I hope this CAN be judged by its cover.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | March 9, 2024 2:24 AM |
Indeed, R33, and I’m the dame to prove it!
