Looks like great cheesy fun just like the original! I will be watching. Even if it stars thirsty Glenn Powell.
I'm getting collagen injections into my lips as I type!

Glenn Powell should do the same for his flat ass.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 11, 2024 11:34 PM |
Is Powell playing Jo and Bill's son? Or is that their daughter? Is Hunt even in this?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 11, 2024 11:35 PM |
Meaningless without PSH
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 11, 2024 11:35 PM |
Right hand red...
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 11, 2024 11:36 PM |
None of the characters names have been revealed. R4 makes no sense.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | February 11, 2024 11:39 PM |
No Helen Hunt on the IMDB page. Hiding her presence (why?) or is she really not involved?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 11, 2024 11:44 PM |
If she’s it will probably be a CAMEO.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 11, 2024 11:45 PM |
I'll be showing up for this.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 11, 2024 11:48 PM |
I'll be swept away by this.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 11, 2024 11:49 PM |
It has Daisy Edgar Jones so I will watch.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 11, 2024 11:51 PM |
Will this be about the meteorological phenomenon or the Milton-Bradley phenomenon?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 11, 2024 11:53 PM |
I don't understand how thirsty, ferret-faced Glenn Powell is a star.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 11, 2024 11:53 PM |
R13 Top Gun Maverick
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 12, 2024 12:46 AM |
R13: But has he actually happened yet? This looks good though.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 12, 2024 12:50 AM |
He’s a butterface with a flat ass.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 12, 2024 12:51 AM |
Minari was pretty good, but nothing about it suggested Lee Isaac Chung would be right for an action movie. But he stacked it with a hot cast. Beyond Powell, there's future Superman David Corenswet, Brandon Perea from Nope and Daryl McCormack, the escort from Good Luck to You, Leo Grande.
R15, I think after Anyone But You, it's safe to say Glen Powell has happened.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 12, 2024 1:04 AM |
Yup. Anyone But You is a sleeper hit. It’s done well.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 12, 2024 1:12 AM |
The original wasn’t cheesy!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 12, 2024 1:14 AM |
What a shitty trailer. When I see Powell I see a closet case doing a McConaughey impression. Every. Single. Movie.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 12, 2024 1:37 AM |
I am from Oklahoma City. I was there for the first movie. We all laughed at how ridiculous it was and this isn't much better. TWINS!! Give me a fucking break. Twister Wrangler? What a lousy moniker. Was Twister Tamer taken?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 12, 2024 1:40 AM |
R20 you label everyone a closet case. Youre demented.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 12, 2024 1:44 AM |
Looks like a really stupid parade of CGI.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 12, 2024 2:30 AM |
The twister is so strong it makes a car fly but they’re still running on their feet from it?!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 12, 2024 2:36 AM |
Rs 13 & 16: If you were at a big party and turned around and there was Glenn Powell sipping a cocktail, and he smiled at you and held out his hand to introduce himself and you started chatting, I think it’s safe to say you’d gaze at his face, get a load of the broad shoulders and tight body in his snug suit, you might suddenly realize that if he leaned in and whispered he wanted to see you later, you’d break into a cold sweat and woudln’t be able to contain your excitement.
So shut the fuck up.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 12, 2024 2:43 AM |
R25 = Powell.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | February 12, 2024 2:58 AM |
R25 I'm not r13 or r16 and I think Powell is cute (in a capybara sort of way), but you have to stop projecting your own likes and desires on to other people. You aren't them. They aren't you. You're old and should have learned this decades ago.
You shut the fuck up.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 12, 2024 2:58 AM |
R27 = zoophile.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 12, 2024 3:00 AM |
Whoa. Someone struck a nerve, huh, R27?
So a poster using a fictitious scenario to point out how useless and stupid it is to snipe at attractive actors is somehow worse than the useless and stupid insults themselves?
Comments inspired by malicious envy and spite at others’ good fortune is projection too.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 12, 2024 3:11 AM |
Glen Powell is on a roll!
Less than two years ago, he made a splash in the TOP GUN sequel, which was a blockbuster.
His current rom-com ANYONE BUT YOU has so far grossed $170 on a $25 million budget and continues to be in the Top 10 at the box office two months after opening.
And now he has the TWISTER sequel in the wings, which no doubt will be a moneymaker.
He's certainly more of a movie star than the likes of Jacob Elordi or Barry Keoghan who get a lot of publicity but can't get people to go see their films (e.g. PRISCILLA, SALTBURN).
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 12, 2024 3:15 AM |
R30 = Powells gay publicist/roommate.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | February 12, 2024 3:17 AM |
*$170 million on a $25 million budget
by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 12, 2024 3:17 AM |
“Is that it?”
“Nope”.
This is what passes for badass dialogue?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | February 12, 2024 3:21 AM |
Let’s stop giving him the credit for the romcom. That is Sydney Sweeney.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | February 12, 2024 3:23 AM |
He is a butterface though, R29.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | February 12, 2024 3:35 AM |

I think Glenn Powell's character will turn out to be the son of the deceased Jonas( Cary Elwes) from the original movie.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | February 12, 2024 5:02 AM |
I think it’s gonna SUCK
by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 12, 2024 5:05 AM |
The most recognizable person in the cast is Kiernan Shipka and she’s not even in the trailer?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | February 12, 2024 5:06 AM |
Glenn Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones are recognizable to me
by Anonymous | reply 41 | February 12, 2024 1:57 PM |
So is this the year Glenn Powell gets the big leading man push? Sydney seems more responsible for making "Anyone But You" a hit than him (although she was probably the worst part of it).
by Anonymous | reply 42 | February 12, 2024 4:10 PM |
I’m confused. Is it set at the same time period as the original or are the scenes with Dorothy a flashback?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | February 12, 2024 4:48 PM |
This actually looks better than the original. The original one was underwhelming, I thought.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | February 12, 2024 5:43 PM |
Will Bill Paxton be making a cameo?

by Anonymous | reply 47 | April 19, 2024 10:15 PM |
At least they didn't cast PSH's son.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | April 19, 2024 10:22 PM |
Here's just released trailer #2. (It's sufficiently different from the previous trailer.)
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 8, 2024 4:03 PM |
Glen also has really tiny, beady eyes.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 8, 2024 4:08 PM |
Info for the inevitable future DL "It's a Flop" thread
Production cost: $200 million
Box office needed to break even (approximation): Between $400 million and $500 million
It would be great if this is a hit, for Daisy and Glen and for the director Lee Isaac Chung . Crossing fingers 🤞
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 8, 2024 4:14 PM |
r49 I see now why people who had seen that trailer in the theatre were saying it was nowhere near as good as the first trailer. Way too long, I zoned out halfway through. Some of the ADR is most foul, especially the segment at 0:38.
DL fave Glen Powell is a movie star, his mouth acting is incredible in that. The next Tom Cruise.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 8, 2024 4:16 PM |
Me, too, r47.
If I've checked my brain cells by performing the act of buying a ticket, I want all the bad dialog, CGI and stupidness my entertainment dollar can buy.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 8, 2024 4:16 PM |
I remember the lunch scene of the original when Lois Smith cooked up all those blackened steaks and got so hungry.
It was not too fancy but it was good, wholesome American fare!
by Anonymous | reply 54 | May 8, 2024 4:44 PM |
This site is saying $65-95 million opening weekend.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | June 25, 2024 5:17 PM |
I love Muriel.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | June 25, 2024 5:23 PM |
My gym must be playing the first trailer. At least they stopped playing the one for Mad Max.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | June 27, 2024 2:38 AM |
They’re saying $50 million now but I think studios are low balling openings now cause they’re scared.
It would have to make $400 million to break even.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | July 2, 2024 5:57 PM |
Oh Universal is saying $40-45 The Quorom Is saying $54-61
I’m very interested in this because I want to see if the Glen Powell hype paid off.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | July 2, 2024 6:21 PM |
$55 million isn’t that good. It’s going to do the same as the Bad Boys movie which was half the cost to make. That’s been out for a month and is at $330 million worldwide.
So if Twisters follows the same path, it’s a flop for them.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | July 2, 2024 6:24 PM |
I don't want to jump the gun and call it a flop but I think it's very possible that it opens below expectations. The awful CGI and flat acting didn't make a very good trailer. Also, the lead actress is bland and boring and the anti-woke moviegoers will be turned off by the real or perceived girl power messages.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | July 3, 2024 12:24 AM |
I never miss a tornado movie. I even went to that low budget one from five years ago with Richard Armitage.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | July 3, 2024 4:18 PM |
Powell’s “Hit Man” TV movie was a smash on Netflix, and though a tornado chase movie would seem to favor a young male audience, Powell has become enough of a name with straight audiences (and especially women) to make a difference at the box office woth this film. I think it’ll be big.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | July 3, 2024 4:20 PM |
R61 I think Daisy was chosen to not overshadow Glen.
If he got his advice from Tom Cruise, Tom always had lesser known female leads who wouldn’t take the spotlight from him.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | July 3, 2024 6:47 PM |
R63: Powell is being marketed to us by “the machine” and not necessarily arriving to this point organically or on merit and it’s honestly annoying AF.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | July 3, 2024 6:53 PM |
R58: I can't believe the budget was $200 million.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | July 3, 2024 6:58 PM |
[quote]I am from Oklahoma City. I was there for the first movie. We all laughed at how ridiculous it was.
Yes! There's a scene where they're in some room during a tornado and they all have their heads up and are screaming. Any Oklahoma schoolkid can tell you to put your head down.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | July 3, 2024 8:39 PM |
I laughed out loud at the rodeo tornado in the trailer. This looks terrible.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | July 3, 2024 8:42 PM |
R65 Yeah and we don’t even know if “Hit Man” was actually a hit because Netflix doesn’t release their numbers.
“Twisters” will determine if he’s all hype.
I have a feeling he is. It’s unfortunate cause I appreciate his ambition.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | July 5, 2024 10:08 PM |
Among talent, 19 percent cited Powell as the driving reason, followed by Daisy Edgar-Jones at 17 percent. Rival studios say those are strong numbers for talent.
“While Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones are unquestionably up-and-comers, sometimes it’s hard for talent to compete with effects, spectacle, and Mother Nature,” says Herrin.
The survey was conducted in the U.S. on June 27. The female/male split was 52 percent and 48 percent, respectively.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | July 5, 2024 10:09 PM |
$50 million on a $200 million dollar budget is pretty bad. Then again a $40 million opening is considered a success by today’s standards.
