The Irish were not the ones here owning slaves. The Irish themselves were not here. Very few Irish people were in the USA at that time.

At that point in history, Irish were treated like dirt in America. However, they did make their way into the American south, and did work as "paid security", aka plantation overseers, jail wardens and bounty hunters tracking down and recovering/kidnapping runaway slaves, especially in the American northeast.

Eventually, they (the Irish bounty hunters and paid security) organized, which led to police forces, and eventually, police unions.

This all well known American history, and not some conspiracy theory.
