Sandra Huller deserves the Oscar for this one scene alone!

Finally watched Anatomy of a Fall and the film is great! Huller is magnificent throughout (and speaks 3 languages in it) as are all the performances! Milo Machado Graner, who plays the son, should have been nominated for Best Supporting Actor. I’m shocked he was ignored. He was incredible.

She's incredible in Zone of Interest as well.

Hüllers performance is definitely the best of the year. It’s a huge shame she’s not being talked about for the Oscar. She blows Emma Stone’s ridiculous performance out of the water. Mulligan doesn’t even come close. Hüller’s performance will be remembered as one of the greatest naturalistic performances ever given. 99% of Hollywood’s actresses could learn a lot from watching her.

Such a great performance.

Bitch!

Agree, Lily Gladstone looks like she's a lock to win but if there's an upset I don't think it will be Emma or Annette.

There's also a precedent of foreign language actors winning: Sophia Loren, Roberto Benigni, Marion Cotillard, Jean Dujardin (yes, I know that was for a silent film but it's still a valid precedent).

I saw the cute dog in the first scene I knew something bad would happen to it and changed the channel. I should have checked doesthedogdiedotcom first. (it doesn't). Still, I didn't even want to think about it.

I wasn't always this way but I've developed complete intolerance to watching anything with animal abuse, excessive fighting, torture of any kind, too many car chases, explosions, or torture.

[quote] Bitch!

Oh yeah, Messi’s acting was fantastic.

I’m 100% with you R6, I was FURIOUS about the dog, but spoiler, he doesn’t die, and recovers very quickly.

by Anonymousreply 8March 1, 2024 12:37 PM

The dog’s acting had people talking. Not even joking.

by Anonymousreply 9March 1, 2024 1:26 PM

The dog should also have been nominated.

by Anonymousreply 10March 1, 2024 1:37 PM

The dog was the star of the Oscar luncheon.
