This Jack guy is London based. I think the Wonka production hired him for security and that's where and when Mouseboy hired him for security at movie premieres and such. Also, in answer to R1's question, bodyguards are purely theater.

I don't think most body guards are there to save the actors life but stars get over enthusiastic fans or someone who wants to make a name for themselves for harassing someone famous and filming it.
