Woot. You know I can’t believe it’s never come up. Does Taraji utter the iconic “you sho is ugly” line?

I liked it. There was however no memorable songs. They are performed well though. Too bad there was no room for Fantasia, she deserved a nom. People say she was amazing on stage but had a terrible reputation for attendance. There were reports at the time where buses of Church Ladies would pull up for the show only to find out she was out. Wouldn't have been a sin if Taraji was nominated too. She certainly worked her ass off more than Emily Blunt or America Ferrara.

Fantasia was actually fantastic in this but the movie was too over the top sappy for me. The finale number at the Easter picnic was anticlimactic and cheesy. As OP mentions, the music was not memorable in any way. Glad I watched it for free on Max. I would like to see Fantasia in another dramatic role, though.
