Do you think this was a real couple? I can't imagine these two being together.
This was after Beatty, right?

Al was only attractive in the first Godfather. After, he started talking in that mumble-y way until Scarface where he was unintelligible.

Name a man Di didn’t try to shag.

Pacino is straight?

She also lived with Woody Allen. I'd take Pacino over Woody any old day.

r2 he was so pretty. Love his big eyes and his nose.
As for his sexuality, if he just had a baby at 83 I think he's still bangin' broads.

They were a couple off and on for 15 years.

I just assumed his wife or girlfriend got artificially inseminated.

Imagine if two stars of their magnitude tried to carry on a low key love affair in the age of social media. Were there just no paparazzi back then?
I'm only confused because of how undocumented it is. They were both gorgeous A list actors.

r8 that could be it. I get more of an asexual vibe from him than a gay one, but want to hear more about why you think he's gay.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 9, 2024 3:12 AM |
R10, I assumed it was artificial insemination more due to him being 80+. Is he gay? I don't know. He's kind of flamboyant and animated. He pretty much keeps to himself and was beautiful for just a short window (Godfather), as mentioned, above.

r11 maybe he mainlines Viagra, we'll never know!
Thank you for answering. He's very flamboyant and animated, I totally agree. I'm going through my Pacino phase and really like his body of work. I like that he keeps to himself, and he seems very humble here accepting his Academy Award for Scent of a Woman.

Was Diane ever considered A list?
Her early career was all those Woody Allen movies, which she did win an Oscar for Annie Hall, and she’s always kept working, but did any producer (other than Woody Allen) say, “Get me Diane Keaton to open my Summer blockbuster”?

I thought he was gay or bi for years and that his various girlfriends were beards/broodmares. Now, however, I think he is straight.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 9, 2024 12:01 PM |
He is a hetero. He gets drunk a lot. He likes prostitutes.

I worked with a woman who had been the personal assistant those two shared when they were a couple. A real couple.

Oh come on, everyone love Al Pacino in "Serpico."

He was beautiful in [italic]Scarecrow,[/italic] too.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 9, 2024 2:29 PM |
I liked him when he smoldered. Once he began screaming his lines I felt like I was watching an actor test his director in the same way a child tests his parents, to see what the consequences of his bad behavior (or bad acting?) will be.
And his directors seemed to be happy just to watch him wind himself up and let him run at full volume, while I remembered how compelling he was in the original Godfather when he maintained an aura of mystery. However, to hear both Francis Coppola and Pacino himself tell it, that reserve was mostly the result of his feeling insecure because he knew the studio hadn’t wanted him as Michael Corleone.
Too bad he seems never to have realized he’s just as magnetic when he does nothing but let us gaze at him as when he’s bellowing up to the cheap seats.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 9, 2024 2:55 PM |
Yeah, he was much better being the silent Michael Corleone. He went crazy (not in a good way) in "Scent of a Woman." What a joke that movie was. He should get as much shit for Scent as Faye Dunaway gets for Mommie Dearest.

Scent of a Woman’s Pussy is a terrible film!

r13 I was being generous like maybe her career's longevity and name recognition would put her in an honorary A-list category. But you're right.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 9, 2024 7:18 PM |
I'm still not convinced he's straight, or that she is. Look at her choices. Him? Woody? not much "there" there. I think Woody likes children. Warren B, yeah he's straight. But he could do better than her.
I think Al and Diane were bearding for each other and Bev D'Angelo was bearding for him. (Yes I know they had kids... doesn't mean she wasn't.)
Look at how she dresses. This screams asexuality to me.

Diane Keaton was never attractive. She did well to nab Al for a while.
